Most police depts consider the new Caprice the best police cruiser ever built

From what I understand, many are reserving judgment until they get their hands on one, or at least until enough reports are out on how the new offerings from Ford and GM will perform and how well they hold up.

My department got six a few months ago. The verdict is in: freakin’ awesome. I got reassigned before they went into use...but I really liked the Charger test car. Problem with the Charger was it needed new brakes every 10,000 miles...and that was a lot of money. The Charger zooms. The fellas say the Caprice zooms better, and handles like a dream. I like the lines of the Charger, but it can't keep up with the Caprice's pace and handling and reliability....according to the guys who are using the five cars that are left: they're also very safe....crumple up like tinfoil to protect the driver in high speed crashes. My buddy John, it is surmised, owes his life to the design.
