General Motors has posted its most profitable year ever in 2011, coming a long way since being bailed out in 2008 and going bankrupt in 2009... And as a reward of the banner year, GM "says union workers will get $7,000 profit-sharing checks."

The bailout did not work. The bailout stiffed bondholders and used the taxes paid by successful car companies to bail out a competitor.
Now Obama is paying off the unions right before an election while apparently GM still owes the taxpayer $20 billion.
47,500 union workers are going to get $7,000 checks, courtesy of you and I.
One more observation: a media that regularly bashes Exxon for having its “most profitable year ever” is VERY EAGER to have a self-induced orgasm over the fake profitable year that GM is experiencing.
Got hypocrisy?
Mitt Romney has repeatedly said the bail out would not work and now he’s in Michigan praising it be cause “it worked” and he was for it all along.
Is Mitt great or what, either way he’s right dammit! That’s what happens when one’s on both sides of the issue.
I have no problem with private-sector unions, Santorum said in his remarks on Thursday. I think they play a role in society.”
My best friend is an engineer for GM so he is salaried. The Union/Owner is freezing their pay but giving the rank and file seven grand.
I have seen both sides of GM. The salaried/engineering side and the line worker/floor labor side. If anyone deserves a raise it is not the brain dead, lazy, slacker people on the line.
Boycott GM until the government is out of the auto business.
Who says, crime does not pay?
Another payout to the jack-booted thugs. Obama’s army, paid for by you and me.
GM still owes a pantload of money back to the taxpayers.
.......if you don’t have to pay taxes for 10 years you can afford to give bonuses.
I am looking to purchase a vehicle. Although I have stopped buying new I will not even purchase a used GM or Chrysler let alone a new one.
No bonuses for the evil “regular” guys on Wall Street though.
This is the equivalent of giving stupid people a turkey and getting their vote. Shouldn’t the bond holders who were stiffed and the taxpayer who is taking it up the a** get this money. What a sham. What a shame. Boycott Government Motors.
I just bought a new pickup. The bailout issue primarily was the reason I chose a Toyota. I had driven Chevy’s all my life before.
I’m in the market for a car and I totally plan to boycott them. Let them spend themselves into bankruptcy
As a condition of receiving the bonus, I’d like to see that each eligible employee get past an IRS audit. It’s only fair...
Made in Texas? Good on ya!
Bush bailed out the failing banks, why can’t Obama bailout GM and Chrysler? I think the GOP will lose out on this argument if their leader GWB bailed out the banks and Wall Street. This is what happens when the RINO caves in on socialism because they pull the leg out from Conservatives on free markets. If one argues against GM/Chrysler bailout which benefits blue collar workers, then from Main Street middle class viewpoint, GOP will help Wall Street bankers but screw Joe the Blue Collar. Obama gets the PR victory on this one. Once we bailed out the banks/Wall Street, the GOP lost moral grounds against bailouts. You are correct, UAW gets bonuses from taxpayers, but so did Wall Street/Bank CEO’s.
