General Motors has posted its most profitable year ever in 2011, coming a long way since being bailed out in 2008 and going bankrupt in 2009... And as a reward of the banner year, GM "says union workers will get $7,000 profit-sharing checks."

I’m in the market for a car

Have I gotta deal for you!

And after a thorough "Self Investigation" by the Obama Administration (with total cooperation from Government Motors and the UAW) that lasted an exhausting 3 days, this car has been re-certified as 100% US Government Approved Safe! Happy days!

Head to your Chevy dealer for yours....now!

Inflation is pretty bad lately. Gas is up, food is up, and the price of votes is through the roof.

Good point. The Republicans don’t have a leg to stand on.

I am glad you mentioned the bondholders.

But let’s face it, they didn’t just get stiffed out of their investment. It was stolen in all the hyperbole of panic talk.

That money, those checks...belong to the bondholders or need to go to cutting the defict.

A great number of republicans voted against the tarp bailouts. Remember it was Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats toasting and celebrating the passage of Tarp. They were the majority party.

As a taxpayer I thrilled about this. Because it means now GM can finish paying us off. /sarc

It’s a lot easier to make a profit when you have a huge debt erased, and are made free from future tax bills...

The bank bailout was approved by the Demonrat controlled House and Senate before Bush signed on. And Junior senator B Hussein Obama voted “yes” to those actions.

Moreover, Bush only authorized one half of the TARP funds....he insisted the next administration determine whether it was really needed. Obama spent it immediately.

So Obama spent as much on the bank bailout as Bush.

I agree with you that Bush should not have bailed out the banks...but the bulk of blame lies with the Democrats.

I just bought a new pickup. The bailout issue primarily was the reason I chose a Toyota. I had driven Chevy’s all my life before.

I grew up in a GM town. Corporate HQ of Oldsmobile, Lansing, Michigan. Because of that I was never enamored of GM vehicles as they were just to prevalent so I went with Fords for much of my young adulthood.

The only GM vehicles I have owned were two Corvettes. I am in the market for a SUV, not a pickup, that can tow a medium sized camping trailer weighing about 6000lbs.

I have purchased so many new vehicles I have decided I do not want to any more.

meanwhile GM refuses to stand behind their pre bankruptcy products and won't own up to recalling or fixing their Chevy Impala. If your looking at used cars, google the Chevy Impala and GM’s refusal to stand behind their vehicles. FU GM.

Mitt Romney has repeatedly said the bail out would not work and now he’s in Michigan praising it be cause “it worked” and he was for it all along. Is Mitt great or what, either way he’s right dammit! That’s what happens when one’s on both sides of the issue.

On the radio yesterday they said Mitt was running ads against the union in Michigan. Wonder what the truth is here?
