I knew immediately she was the republican candidate, because she is being savaged here on Free Republic. First female combat pilot, distinguished career, Harvard grad.

I know a lot of A-10 pilots and none of them have anything good to say about her.

Based on the headline of this post, and most of the responses, I figured I was on Daily Kos (Odd because I have never looked at DK before) or else the article had to be about a democrat.

Then I remembered that many Freepers have become the front line for announcing that conservatives are supposed to turn against all republican candidates.

Perhaps the poster found her comment embarrassing, maybe she’s not a polished candidate at this time. OK, does that justify the crazed headline?

She’s an American hero (ine) and combat leader, I looked at her bio and immediately want to support her. And for a lousy congressional seat we already have decided she’s so awful?

I didn’t think she did such a bad job, and I’ve seen far worse. Look, Santorum’s remarks were not his best moment, he wasn’t clear and this allowed everyone to interpret what his real meaning was. As a decorated female veteran it should come as no surprise that she would take an opposing view, since she’s obviously bumped up against this issue throughout her career.

No harm, no foul. If our judgement of candidates now comes down to personal appearance, where are all the “Newt is fat” jokes? C’mon, let’s stay focused on what is important.

Kind of surprised by her politics. I know two people who knew her in her early years in the Air Force. One instructor pilot who was a colleague of hers, and one of her student pilots. The instructor liked her, the student saw her as someone who was always out for herself.

She's right on the issues, but I am not sure her personality will work well in the "go along to get along", seniority-driven nature of Congress. She would be likely to get frustrated after a few years.

Jesse Kelly and Frank Antenori both are more experienced candidates.

You guys had me visualizing some wild-eyed, nappy headed, kook before I watched the video. I thought she did great. AND SHE WAS RIGHT ABOUT RICK SANTORUM BEING OUT OF TOUCH. I like Santorum but he makes me nervous as hell with comments like the one about women in combat and, also, when he said that contraception was "bad for America". Rick Santorum will not get 10 percent of the women vote if he is the nominee. I'm returning to pulling for Newt again. Santorum does not have the chance of the proverbial snow ball in hell.

I'm thinking that all you guys criticizing this lady must be as out of touch with the real world as Rick is or very insecure in your manhood endowment.
