This exemplifies the doctrine that any internally-consistent world view has an opposing world view that is exactly contradictory in every particular...and equally internally consistent. The Christian world view holds that premarital sex is sinful, no matter who engages in it nor with whom. The American secularist world view holds that sex is always licit, no matter who engages in it or with whom. The difference couldn’t be put more plainly (not that Andrea Mitchell is in a position to notice).

For people like Andrea Mitchell, what was once bad is now good. Sort of like saying ‘What Were Once Vices are Now Habits’. These people live in a universe precisely opposite to mine (and, I think, yours). Rick answered perfectly, assuming he was too careful to be sarcastic, which would be the easy retort and get him into no end of trouble. He done good.

This just adds to the certain meme the press/left will use against Santorum.

It won't even matter if the characterizations are accurate or true.

Independent women voters will hear ONLY that Santorum wants to take away birth control and is a religious net about it.

Of course not. There are a few women who support Newt because he is a fantastic debater and, once upon a time, was a conservative leader and firebrand. FWIW, I'd be supporting that version of Newt myself if I thought that is what we would get. But I'm sure you aren't one who would vote for ObaMao over Santorum either because of this remark.

My post was only directed at those who think Santorum would be disqualified from getting 90% of women voting for him due to this remark.

A greater number are turned off by Newt because of his serial adultery, even though that is a lesser issue with me.

Well, that's a head scratcher for me since the family value voters support Rush Limbaugh who had 4 or 5 failed marriages and was sleeping around with a young CNN anchor, now married to a girl mucher yonger than he...I guess people can forgive when they desire. none of us are perfect...that's for sure...

I tell you, if this guy is the nominee (by stopping Romney), we will lose in a landslide. I just cannot believe people cannot see this. He is so plain. No inspiration, the social conservatives think they have a leader.. What a mess. I am sure Rick and his money man discussed that statement since Rick is so preachy and has his umbrella thinking over our lives to our marriages to babies... Imo..

Well, good point of comparison (to bring up Rush as a point of comparison to Gingrich)...
...but if you're going to go all out in slander & gossip, at least get your facts straight.

4 or 5 marriages? (C'mon you're already knew when you typed that it wasn't accurate...nobody's married 4 or 5 times)

For the record 4 times...and per Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh)...his first wife filed for divorce -- not him...He filed for divorce #3).

But then again, in an adulterous-minded America, we don't know if other-spouse adultery prompted any of the filings.

Wikipedia doesn't mention who filed in divorce #2...since the ex-wife remarried the following year, it gives a clue that she wasn't necessarily a divorce "victim."

Finally, though, while you may want to continuing mentioning Rush as a point of comparison re: Newt...ya might also wanna remember that the character bar can be a bit lower for say, a talk-show radio DJ than...oh, THE leader of the free world. Right?
