Turkey will not allow NATO to share intelligence with Israel

Turkey will never allow any third country, particularly Israel, to use intelligence obtained by a NATO radar system, its foreign minister said on Friday. "We will never allow any third country to use any NATO facility. Our position will be even more clear if it is particularly Israel," Davutoglu told a joint news conference with visiting NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Ankara.

His remarks came after some media outlets reported that the United States and Israel have carried out a joint missile test by using intelligence gathered by a NATO radar system based in eastern Turkey.

Last year Ankara decided to host in a military facility base near Malatya in the southeast an early warning radar as part of NATO's defense architecture.

"It is a NATO system and we appreciate that Turkey has agreed to host one of the facilities," said Rasmussen.

"Data are shared within our alliance among the allies. It is a defence system to protect the populations of NATO allies," he added without mentioning Israel, which is not a NATO member.

Turkey's relations with one-time regional ally Israel plunged into deep crisis in 2010 when Israeli forces killed nine Turks in a raid on a Turkish ferry, part of an activist flotilla seeking to breach Israel's naval blockade of Gaza.

In 2011, Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador and axed military ties and defence trade after Israel's refusal to apologise and compensate the flotilla victims.

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

Its time to disband NATO. Its mission ended 20 years ago, and it has become a bureaucratic monster. Now they run around installing islamists in Mid-East countries.

Turkey with its Islamist bigotry is turning out to be a real stinker in the NATO punchbowl.

Who had the bright idea of letting Turkey into NATO in the first place?

Turkey was allowed to join in 1952 because NATO needed to reinforce its “southern flank”. It did stop the Soviet Union easy access to the Mediterranean Sea and stop Greece from being taken over by the Communists.

This data from the new radar station would be invaluable for Israel in case of an Iranian attack. It would prepare the IDF forces to “hunker down”, give trajectory information and provide warning for the Israeli population to get into the air raid shelters.

Turkey has worn out its welcome in NATO. They proved their uselessness by denying our 4th Division the use of its territory for the invasion of Iraq in 2003 (irrespective of Colin Powell’s diplomatic incompetence). And their recent flotilla debacle, and threats against Israel should seal the deal for their exit.

Why should Israel apologize when the flotilla was obviously carrying weapons to Hamas?

I agree. But the sticking point is Incirlik Air Base and EU membership.

The least damaging action would be for the US to get our nukes and equipment out of Turkey as fast as possible and then get out of NATO, cutting off foreign aid to ‘em all.

NATO is a tool of the Western EU-Anglo-American globalist oligarchy. They don't care a bit about the life of the common man. They don't care about the local interests of Turkey and Israel. They only care about holding onto their power and wealth. Wealth that is gotten by manipulating national economies. If America withdrew, NATO would dissolve. Please America, give us a president and congress that pulls us out of NATO and the UN.

Turkey will pretend they really mean this and we’ll pretend to believe them

Meanwhile Turkey and Israel face common enemies and will continue to watch each others’ backs, at least back channel
