Holy Toledo! Newt endorsed Ryan’s Plan. He was one of the biggest defenders of Ryan when it first came out and others began attacking him. Newt called it visionary and courageous.

For the “status quo”?? The Beltway “Status Quo” are fighting Newt tooth and nail because he will dismantle their way of conducting business. They, unlike the rest of the country, are doing well. Newt is the only candidate that they fear.

Mitt, as Newt astutely pointed out, will “manage the decay”. Rick will preach and look down his long, holier than thou nose, and try to be the country’s moral authority, because he really doesn’tknow how to lead or facilitate change and reform. Newt has a proven record that he does.

Goof .. make that four years ago, in 2008 ... when Romney had many vocal supporters here.

My target is an increasingly oppressive federal government. Electing Romney or Santorum won't accomplish a damn thing for achieving my goal.

Moralizing is NOT what will set our nation right; CUTTING ITS GOVERNMENT WILL.

With what Newt knows, prosperity grows.

Newt is running for the loan of the Presidency.

"This isn’t about beauty contests or cults of personality. It’s about fighting our main enemy, an oppressive federal government. Only Newt really has a platform that even begins to address it."

Exactly! We are on the same page. Thank you!

Both of you have stated it perfectly!!! I really hope and pray that Newt Gingrich's campaign people see and apply it.

Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

One candidate does NOT fit that description and that is Newt. Not only did the economy improve drastically while he was in office, he was INSTRUMENTAL in the economic growth by getting the government out of the way.

“Little Ricky loves Arlen”

He also likes Obama, Sotomayor, Sam Walton’s billions (traveling in the Wal-Mart corporate jets, battling to limit any increases in the minimum wage and seeking to make changes in overtime rules that woulld benefit the company), Tom Delay and the K Street lobbyists, the big Medicare spending, and above SOPA and censoring the internet, because some kids made fun of his name ...

Santorum: ‘The Internet is not a free zone where anybody can do anything they want’

It is what then? The government property, like in China, N.Korea and Iran, where the autocrats do “whatever they want” ?

Social Conservatives dominate the Republican party, my friend.

I'm against abortion and my posts on FR attest to my bona fides as being against the gay agenda. I think I certainly qualify as socially conservative.

In that boast you make about who dominates the Republican party, tell me if it is dominated by social conservatives like me who are as opposed to increasing the size of the government as they are to abortion and the gay agenda?

How much do SoCons like me and so many others I see on FR, "dominate the Republican party"? Have you not figured out yet that proud self-righteous so-cons who love big government as a tool to impose their version of righteousness (which includes Food Stamps, Head Start, regular minimum wage increases,, etc. etc.) on others, are PART OF THE REASON the Republican party is in such divide right now?

Limited government and the right of a free people to reject immorality is the path to a nation where morality can thrive.

Some tidbits that make me kinda like Santorum ...!

Interestingly, Santorum early in his legal career played a key role in the rise of pro wrestling.

As a young associate attorney for Kirkpatrick & Lockhart in Pittsburgh in the 1980s, Santorum lobbied in Harrisburg on behalf of the World Wrestling Federation in a successful effort to de-regulate pro-wrestling, “arguing that pro wrestling was entertainment, and not a sport, and, as such, should be exempted from federal steroid regulations,” the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported in a 1994 profile.

Now somebody please tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor! LOLOL!! {^)

If, as one of the replies suggested, Sarah really is staying out of it, avoiding the slings and arrows, hoping to swoop in and take over after the other gladiators, who STAYED IN THE RING have destroyed one another; I have a pretty dim view of THAT, too.

Well, I’m a Palin fan but I don’t think she’s a good judge of tough. Newt was rolled by Clinton numerous times, he folded in the face of the bogus charges brought against him by dem morons and he was led by the nose by the Heritage foundation into thinking that unconstitutional individual mandates on health care by the feds was just honky dory.

Moreover Sarah quit as Governor when she should have fought those bastards and declined to run for POTUS because it would have been tough.

Now I don’t know if Santorum is tough or not. And for whats its worth I don’t know if I’d trust any of them on my 6 in a fight. I would trust my brother who is as tough as they come but he would be a bit too politically incorrect and right wing to get elected in this marxist country of ours.
