"I was in Venezuela a couple of months ago. The infrastructure is crumbling with potholes everywhere. However, IF they can get their act together the future can be good. I think it could be a big tourist destination, particularly on Isla Margarita in the Caribbean and in the western Venezulan state of Tachira in the Andes. That’s where I was. Even though it is in the tropics, the temperature is moderate due to the altitude. Very pleasant and the food was great. Grass fed free grazing cattle makes for great beef!"

I was in Caracas before Chavez. With all of their problems, Venezuelans are so much worse off now. They were moving toward the first world, now they will be lucky if they don't fall into the third after mass killings and collapse.

everything that has been nationalized has seen production fall and costs skyrocket.
