How 'Occupy' went wrong
A trashed house in Brooklyn has become a symbol of a movement that failed to capitalize on popular anger

On Dec. 6, nearly 300 members of the Occupy Wall Street movement flooded into East New York to begin what they considered phase two of their efforts. A few weeks earlier, they had been rousted from Manhattans Zuccotti Park, where they had camped for three months attracting worldwide attention and forcing politicians to take notice.
The excitement reached a crescendo when Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn) knocked on the door, decorated with a pine wreath for Christmas, and out came the homeless man who was moving in with his family, Alfredo Carrasquillo.
Barron raised Carrasquillos arm in victory.
Last week, Wise Ahadzi opened the door to the house he still owns, 702 Vermont Street in East New York.
Inside is a war zone. The walls are torn down, the plumbing is ripped out and the carpeting has been plucked from the floor. Its like walking through a ribcage.

Not any of us, anyway. :)
The last line of the article nails it: “Occupy has shown its good at tearing things down. What happens if it had to fix them?”
Charles Barron - the top whitey hater in New York City politics. Makes Hitler sound like a nice guy.
Now you know why it is called the “Occupoop Movement”.
According to the article, the neighbors originally supported the occupation/theft of the house but now regret it. Ah! What a wonderful lesson about equality of outcomes. Rather than expanding the pie, we’ll just make everyone share a much smaller (or nonexistent) pie.
BTW, I really doubt the neighbors learned a thing. They’ll likely line up like lemmings to vote for Obama in November.
The problem with OWS was they actually have video interviews of those involved.
Quickly, everyone with half a brain realized it was just Obama voters getting their protest on.
SUE Charles Barron!!!! He’s one of the DUMBEST RACISTS out there!!
God bless them (OWS) for their spontaneity. Its young, its spontaneous, its focused and its going to be effective. - Nancy Pelosi
OWS never went wrong, it was wrong from the get go.
Exactly! "How OWS went wrong?"??? If the fundamental question "Who is OWS?" was asked and honestly answered when it should have been, an informed American media and public would instead now be asking "How could OWS not go wrong?"
And of course OWS was always a network of dedicated radical Anti-Americans - who were against America and its tradition of individual freedom and property - who, by design, drew useful idiots to there fleabag camps to act only as extras in a production organized and directed by those radicals, and using a script those radicals had learned from their anti-American Communist heroes (Chavez, Castro, Mao, etc.).
OWS $hits on, dances on, burns and graffitis the American flag:

This is all that Socialism produces. I have relatives in Poland. I’ve seen the glories of Socialism first hand. If there was justice in this world, the occupods would spend ten years living in Cuba.
It's a joke.
The "Occupy Movement" is nothing more than decadence. It has no objective other than icoclasm for its own sake. Its basis is sloth and self-indulgence. Its energy comes from the anger of the lazy at natural forces opposing their sloth and self-indulgence.
Those who seek to find anything deeper than this in the "Movement" merely reveal their own inability to recognize the truth when it hits them in the face.
To be sure, malevolent forces seek to subvert the "Occupy Movement" to their own purposes, but even they find it impossible to motivate these decadent, self-indulgent, slothful, intellectually deficient loosers.
It's like trying to herd a bunch of alley cats into a military charge.
I know that the grotesque is a combination of the horrible and the funny, but what's a combination of the pathetic and the funny?
OK, everybody, let's give them a consensus of fingers pointed at NYC, in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ...
Occupy achieved its main objective. Get the media and popular discussion off of the deficit and Obama’s ineffective stimulus spending, and onto feelings of rage and jealousy over how “the 99%” are getting screwed over by the wealthy and corporations.
This has reshaped the battlefield much more to Barry’s advantage.
They did not think it through.
What about supplies to build?
Tools to do the building?
Feed the crews? pay the crews?
Instead it seems they just stripped everything and sold it. (probably for more drugs)
