Gingrich should be the president in 2012, and Sarah Palin should be his Vice President. That’s the ticket.

Which is totally appropriate, since Norris is on Team Newt anyway.

Newt Gingrich’s words carry a weight that would break a less intelligent man’s jaw.

When Newt Gingrich does a round house kick, Chuck Norris ducks for cover.

“Newt Gingrich teaches Admirals and Generals.”

....but he doesn’t teach them accounting.

There are questions. It doesn’t say that anything is wrong.

It is not illegal for federal candidates to pay family members for political work, as long as they are paid fair market value, the Federal Election Commission has ruled.

But, if we are discussing candidate finances and accounting issues, perhaps we can discuss Santorums, too?

Newt has a self-destruct button that he pushes w/ painful frequency.

Anybody here that thinks he won't push it again, as soon as he starts to climb in the polls, really isn't paying attention.

“It is not illegal for federal candidates to pay family members for political work, as long as they are paid fair market value, the Federal Election Commission has ruled”

Come on now.....Callista’s “Web hosting company”?

You’d think the “smartest guy in the room” would know that you have to have clean accounting if you want people to give you money.

“But, if we are discussing candidate finances and accounting issues, perhaps we can discuss Santorums, too?”

Absolutely! But don’t do so to hide Newt’s accounting nonsense, and enrichment of family members - and the fact that given his previous baggage, that it is the height of STUPIDITY to think that he can gloss over this.

So do you think Newt should release his campaign accounting as he is required by the FEC, and as apparently all other candidates have done? What do you think he is hiding that he wouldn’t do so from the start? Do you think it is “smart” to skirt the rules and laws as is alleged (with specific examples) in this article? Wouldn’t a “smart” candidate make sure he is removed from such criticism as much as is possible?

“It doesn’t say that anything is wrong.”

Actually, if you read the article it clearly states that there is something wrong - and that Newt is evading accountability for payments by using prohibited accounting tactics.

It seems Miller was having some second thoughts a short while ago.

Santorum is just a stalking horse for Romney. He's working to be the VP for Romney to help "balance the ticket" and keep the folks in "flyover country" from going for Newt.
That's why Snitt stayed focused on slandering Newt no matter what sort of numbers Santorum was showing in the polls, he's already bought and paid for Santorum. Besides, if Snitt dropped dead tomorrow, Newt dropped out, and then somehow Santorum managed to beat Barry he'd just play the game the way he always has. He knows and the Vichy GOP all know that he can't lead the Republicans or stand up to the democrat fascists and his record proves it.

Santorum talks the talk but he doesn't walk the walk, he just rolls over and plays "go along to get along". Newt, on the other hand, has a record that proves he'll stand up to anyone who doesn't get with the Conservative agenda. He is the only guy to lead the Congress to a balanced budget and try to keep the Reagan Revolution going when the Vichy Republicans were all anxious to just take the bigger slices of the pie they could get by being in the majority.

Both the Fascist Democrat leadership and the Vichy GOP leadership are afraid of Newt winning because they all know he won't play the game and go along to get along. Plus, Newt knows where the bodies are buried and has good reason to start digging them up as payback for the way both parties went after him when he was Speaker.

Newt or neutered, that's the choice Conservatives have to make.

Newt's problem isn't that he's the smartest guy in the room; it's that he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

Like some sort of high school debate champ he can effectively argue either side of a position; and often does!

He's so enamored of his own erudition that he loses sight of core principles; global warming-he's for and against it; mandatory healthcare-he's for and against it; cap & trade- he's for and against it.

This is why he spends so much time walking back previous elegant statements.

Yes, but remember the old saying: Americans won't vote for any candidate they perceive to be smarter than themselves.

Too bad Rick Perry dropped out - this wouldn't be an issue. :)
