Gingrich should be the president in 2012, and Sarah Palin should be his Vice President. That’s the ticket.

“Newt Gingrich is the Smartest Guy in the Room”

Without the shadow of a doubt.

“If you added up all the IQ scores of all the other GOP presidential candidates, they might equal the IQ of Newton Leroy Gingrich. This is an extreme blessing. Newt have a huge range of knowledge, experience, and ideas,” said a Republican consultant.

Newt makes a lot of sense, and his ideas on everything from fiscal/economic policy, national defense, judiciary, to foreign affairs are informed by a huge body of knowledge and in-depth study.

Vote for competence, vote NEWT-ON!

The key thing Sarah Palin said is “Newt’s way of explaining his position” is the best, and it is. This is what the Santorum supporters can’t seem to understand. This is very important. Santorum is passionate about what he believes (which is a lot about big government, but that’s another subject) - but no body, including Santorum, can come close to being able to simply launch into a conversation about any belief the way Newt can.

It’s an incredible talent, and as a society we always give certain passes for those with exceptional talent - because damnit - exceptional talent does matter. Newt has exceptional talent. Santorum has 7 kids. Who I might choose for my neighborhood watch commander is not who I might choose as President.

Newt's out-of-the-gate slam to Ford is what America has been yearning to see, hear and feel.

Anyone even remotely paying attention has some kind of a "They're ALL crooks" thought niggling around their brain, and Newt, on an extremely national stage told the world where to get off.

THAT is Newt's power.

Knowing everything to know kind'a helps, too.

There are questions. It doesn’t say that anything is wrong.

It is not illegal for federal candidates to pay family members for political work, as long as they are paid fair market value, the Federal Election Commission has ruled.

But, if we are discussing candidate finances and accounting issues, perhaps we can discuss Santorums, too?

Anybody here that thinks he won't push it again, as soon as he starts to climb in the polls, really isn't paying attention.

“It is not illegal for federal candidates to pay family members for political work, as long as they are paid fair market value, the Federal Election Commission has ruled”

Come on now.....Callista’s “Web hosting company”?

You’d think the “smartest guy in the room” would know that you have to have clean accounting if you want people to give you money.

“But, if we are discussing candidate finances and accounting issues, perhaps we can discuss Santorums, too?”

Absolutely! But don’t do so to hide Newt’s accounting nonsense, and enrichment of family members - and the fact that given his previous baggage, that it is the height of STUPIDITY to think that he can gloss over this.

So do you think Newt should release his campaign accounting as he is required by the FEC, and as apparently all other candidates have done? What do you think he is hiding that he wouldn’t do so from the start? Do you think it is “smart” to skirt the rules and laws as is alleged (with specific examples) in this article? Wouldn’t a “smart” candidate make sure he is removed from such criticism as much as is possible?

“It doesn’t say that anything is wrong.”

Actually, if you read the article it clearly states that there is something wrong - and that Newt is evading accountability for payments by using prohibited accounting tactics.

Santorum is just a stalking horse for Romney. He's working to be the VP for Romney to help "balance the ticket" and keep the folks in "flyover country" from going for Newt.
That's why Snitt stayed focused on slandering Newt no matter what sort of numbers Santorum was showing in the polls, he's already bought and paid for Santorum. Besides, if Snitt dropped dead tomorrow, Newt dropped out, and then somehow Santorum managed to beat Barry he'd just play the game the way he always has. He knows and the Vichy GOP all know that he can't lead the Republicans or stand up to the democrat fascists and his record proves it.

Santorum talks the talk but he doesn't walk the walk, he just rolls over and plays "go along to get along". Newt, on the other hand, has a record that proves he'll stand up to anyone who doesn't get with the Conservative agenda. He is the only guy to lead the Congress to a balanced budget and try to keep the Reagan Revolution going when the Vichy Republicans were all anxious to just take the bigger slices of the pie they could get by being in the majority.

Both the Fascist Democrat leadership and the Vichy GOP leadership are afraid of Newt winning because they all know he won't play the game and go along to get along. Plus, Newt knows where the bodies are buried and has good reason to start digging them up as payback for the way both parties went after him when he was Speaker.

Newt or neutered, that's the choice Conservatives have to make.

Newt's problem isn't that he's the smartest guy in the room; it's that he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

Like some sort of high school debate champ he can effectively argue either side of a position; and often does!

He's so enamored of his own erudition that he loses sight of core principles; global warming-he's for and against it; mandatory healthcare-he's for and against it; cap & trade- he's for and against it.

This is why he spends so much time walking back previous elegant statements.

A man who writes 25 books and gives more speeches and interviews than you could ever hope to listen to or read, is bound to fumble the ball a few times. Gingrich has made a few admissions only. You obviously don't spend any time actually reading his writings or listening to his speeches. That's the only way you can erroneously claim:

This is why he spends so much time walking back previous elegant statements.

when the fact is that is not how Gingrich spends his time.

Only someone who is dishonest at their core or led by the nose from the MSM would say he does spend his time like that.

I'm always suspicious of any self-described genius.

Newt's recent crash and burn was brought about by Newt. His hubris knows no bounds.

Listen, I'm doing you guys a favor. I have no doubt whatsoever that w/i the next 2 weeks Newt will say or do something so monumentally stupid that he'll be forced from the race.

Newt walking back statements? I just dont see that in him. None of my business who you are supporting but if it happens to be Santorum, he does a better job than michael jackson doing the moonwalk. He has spent the past week either clarifying, or denying, or claiming he as been taken out of context. If he would stop the rambling, said less and made his point clear we wouldn’t all be trying to interpret.. If santorum is the one, he better get it together real soon, because if Newt is rejected, it will be too late for remorse come the first debate with Obama.

This item and thread has other people talking about Gingrich as being a smart guy.

The only "self-described genius" here, whose "hubris knows no bounds", would be you.

You think we need you to do us a "favor" by thinking for us. If anything you come across as jealous of Gingrich's noted intellectual prowess.

It was the tens of millions of dollars on negative ads that were spent for Romney which caused Gingrich his setbacks. So your "two weeks" prediction based only on jealous vindictive, is not only additional proof of your own hubris, but also more than just a little bit weird.

Go write 25 books and be a serious candidate for president, and then come back to your strange competition against Newt.
