Happy President's Day!
Maybe, LOL! They might just have today off.
Morning p6! My nephews have school today. They didn’t have school on MLK day. What’s wrong with that picture?
Hi, folks. I still listen when I can. Should be able to listen on the way to the State House Wednesday.
Morning PYE! Good things been happening up you way haven’t they?
Morning PYE. What’s new up in New Hampshire?
That is disgusting! Mrs p6 isn’t off today, they usually get bank holidays off. I don’t recall if she had MLK day off.
Did you or PYE happen to hear what little 2 seat car Jim was talking about?
Good morning, folks. Finally feeling halfwasy decent again after that bout with the flu. Stuff like that just doesn’t let go quickly anymore... grrr!...
Some good things for sure but lots of hate and discontent. Most of our time is wasted. The process sucks.
I heard that segment. Didn’t catch the name of the car though. Somebody around here drives a really tiny car - I’ve seen it at the grocery store parking lot - but I don’t think it’s the one Quinn was talking about. I wouldn’t want to drive it in the snow, but I bet it’s really good on gas!
Hate and discontent. IOW, everything is (the new) normal! Is that between Republican and Democrat legislators, or between legislators and the people - or just in general?
Greg, I downloaded the Iheartradio app. I listen to Q&R through that when I’m not near my computer.
Several people in my office have had it. It takes a couple of weeks to recover from. I sure don’t want it!
That was probably a Smart car. They’re sold through Merceddes Benz and cost around 15k - 20k. Not fantastic gas mileage but they’re neat in a nerdy way. The only real advantage is the size. Easy to park. A nice alternative to a motorcycle.
I actually have been lookimg at one for our youngest son and around town. Lease is $80-$100/month for two years.
Then I came to my senses, LOL!
6 people in WI(?) Fell through the ice while on snow machines...1 died. An officer said the lake hadn’t even frozen completely this year and the people were driving on the barely frozen water at times!
What were they thinking?!
Happy Prexies’ Day n’@!
Got to sleep in because my kids didn’t have school Friday or today (can not remember if they were off on MLK Day or not). These were “snow days” that were not used so...look for blizzard like conditions in the next couple of weeks to cause “Snow Days!!!!”
Mixed the first hour...but I don’t think you want a smart car. We have one that visits our building at work. It’s been parked next to my little Patriot...and it looks like it could fit in my cargo bay. Tiny doesn’t quite describe it. My guess your son is tall—and even my size (short) would be cramped.
I am having trouble typing replies.while typing it goes down to where the original post is on the bottom. It is a pain. Saw a picture of a small car before accident with two semi’s at less 10 mph. It was squished down to a foot or two. I should of saved it. I can’t spell check..it must be foxfire just did an update. going to IE.
Yup it IS tiny! I doubt I would be comfortable unless I lose at least 50 pounds. And yes youngest son is over 6 feet so he wouldn’t fit either.
Back in the day I drove a LeCar and a Fiat X1/9. The LeCar actually wasn’t bad even taking a trip to NC Outer Banks with Mrs p6 and two young kids. Never got less than 45 mpg in the city. Parts were impossible though.
The Fiat was like a go kart. Mrs p6 hated it. It ended up in the cesspool at the farm. Don’t ask...it’s way too hard to type on this tablet today.
I havw to get some sleep because I ‘m picking youngest son up from work at noon.
Catch yunz all tomorrow!
Who knows? Some of the central and southern areas haven’t had enough cold weather and too much snow for the lakes to freeze much more than a couple inches. Someone failed to check the thickness of the ice, may have saw icefishermen out there. The ice could have been thick enough to handle one sled alone but you get the weight of six sleds and people in one small location and that’s all she wrote. I can speak with experience that two inches in more than enough to walk on (and fall on - like falling on steel) but you don’t take a sled out on it.
Never walk on ice unless it is 4 1/2 inches thick. I know someone who almost ended up becoming fish food.
The car is named the "THINK".
Electric Car Company Files For Bankruptcy...Again
The third bankruptcy of Norwegian electric carmaker "Think" should be an indication that electric cars aren't exactly the best products on the market.
Think filed for bankruptcy after failing to attract adequate capital to continue funding operations, Salem said in an email. The bankruptcy process does not include Think North America, which is a separate legal entity. The trustee will determine the future disposition of Think North Americas assets.
This is the third and likely the last trip to bankruptcy court for Think since its founding in the early 1990s. (Battery maker Ener1, Thinks largest shareholder, stated in a regulatory filing that it expected to take a $35.4 million charge.)
Think may be bankrupt, but cars are still available
If you were smitten by the little electric Think City and thought the company's recent bankruptcy put the kibosh on your chances of ever owning one of the plastic-paneled car, then *ahem, think again. It seems there are still some of the city runabouts to be had if you look in the right place.
One such location is Green Wheels in Chicago, IL. The dealership, as the name suggests, specializes in all-electric and hybrid vehicles and has a couple post-rebated demos on hand they can sell for as low as $17,995. If you're willing to lay out $31,500 for a brand-new one and remember, there are rebates still available in some states that can bring that initial sticker down below $20,000 they have a couple of those as well and say that they have access to more. While that price is nicely down from the pre-bankruptcy $36,495 MSRP, it's a little uncomfortably close to that of the Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi i. Still, we liked the little coupe when we drove it and for some, this car just might be the bee's knees.
I lived several years in Michigan where, for reasons which escaped me, ice fishing was their passion.
Every year with the spring thaw they’d broadcast warnings to get off the ice. Every year some would ignore them and go plunging into a nearly-frozen Saginaw Bay.
Mostly between Republicans and Republicans.
:(
bah! I fell HARD on two inches. It didn’t even budge. Swear to God I fell on steel, so painful!
I’ll concede on that point - springtime can be a bit hairy. The two inches at the beginning of winter is solid. May not be the case when the weather is warming up.
I feel fairly good again except for a nagging headache that won’t go away. Thought it might be something left over from the flu. But I had to go in to get my blood pressure checked (just started BP meds) and she said the headache is likely from my high blood pressure.
I swear, my body is going to he** in a handbasket lately.
