Obama’s gas-price spike
The Washington Times ^ | February 20, 2012 | Editorial

$4 gas is here today, higher tomorrow

Here we go again. Gasoline prices are rising rapidly and already have shattered the $4-a-gallon mark in California. Industry analysts say the all-time national average record of $4.11 could be shattered this summer. Some stations in Los Angeles are charging $4.93. Americans hired Barack Obama in 2008 partly in hope of finding relief from that summer’s pain at the pump. As the agony returns, voters could be primed by November to pull the lever for anybody but Barack.

The Golden State has the unwelcome distinction of having the nation’s highest gas prices, having reached $4.03 on Presidents Day, according the AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report. Though the national average was $3.56, the California price jumped 18.9 cents in just the past week. Alaska, Florida and traditionally pricey states in the Northeast are not far behind. The standard rule is that each penny increase sucks about $1 billion out of the economy, so the financial impact will be felt from coast to coast.

This latest gas-price jolt is predictable. President Obama has done much to impede the supply of petroleum products to consumers. Most particularly, he exploited the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as an excuse to clamp down on oil drilling in the Gulf and also along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.

By Obama impeding the suppy of petroleum products he feels he is making the higher cost of renewable energy, electric vehicles, etc. more acceptable to the American public. This turkey has to go, he's bankrupting our country.

Should be 5 or 6 by November. Barry and the ‘RATS will probably use that as an excuse to drive through the projects picking up people to take to the polls. “The poor” won’t be able to get to the polls on their own because of the cost of gas. Don’t want to disenfranchise ‘em!

It’s okay: Americans love high gas prices.

That’s why we keep electing people who bring us this type of crap. :)

Zero will say the Republican Congress is responsible. The media will declare it as a for-sure fact. The idiots will vote for Zero.

I’ve little doubt you’re correct. The idiot running the U.S. Senate will feed the enemedia that very line and the voters voting for Zer0 will be and in fact are idiots.

This is good. High gas prices mean few people will drive. Fewer people driving means less global warming.

How else can O can keep his campaign promise of lowering the sea levels?

Well, this is one campaign promise that he DID fulfill...we will have gas prices just like Europe.

Unfortunately, we will have distances to the store, mass transportation, a job, and entertainment just like Kansas.

What I can’t figure out is why the United Mine Workers would support a guy who’d put them out of business...

He's bankrupting the country which has been his intention all along. Keep the people broke, unemployed, desperate, completely dependent on the government for handouts so they vote 'Rat so as to not lose those benefits. Liberals are indeed one hell of an evil evil crew.

I really doubt that the gas prices will matter that much, because I believe that Obama is going to start a war before November, i.e. a huge wag-the-dog. I think he believes that if we are in a big conflict that people will back him. If ICBM's were incoming and there were 2 handles to pull:,

1. Vote for anyone but Obama(ABO/FUBO handle)

2. Vote for Obama and stop the ICBMs midair.

I'm pulling handle #1

Every time I see that damn posed photograph of the kenyan, I think of similar photos of Stalin and Mussolini.

I can not help but think of the similarities in their personalities.

Obama is doing nothing to help. He believes higher and higher gasoline prices will encourage the American public’s acceptance of the “Joy Juice” of the Left.

$5 a gallon is a cheap price to pay if it helps get rid of that Marxist Moo-slim.

Yeah right.

Watch for gasoline prices to drop 10 or 20 cents in October.

The MSM will proclaim “Gasoline prices plunging! Obama’s energy policy successful!”
