American firearm sales and concealed handgun permit applications are at all-time highs since the 2008 election of President Barack Obama. President Obama's perceived hostility towards gun owners has been one of the key factors behind the multi-year financial boom the firearms industry continues to enjoy. In fact, the National Rifle Association (NRA) is actively preparing to work to defeat President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign, according to Wayne LaPierre, the CEO of the NRA, who recently said the following at the 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C.:
"Lip service to gun owners is just part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment during his second term. We see the president's strategy crystal clear: Get re-elected and, with no more elections to worry about, get busy dismantling and destroying our firearms' freedom, erase the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights and excise it from the U.S. Constitution...When the sun goes down on election day Barack Obama will have Americas gun owners to thank for his defeat. - Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the NRA, February 10th, 2012
Ironically, the perceived hostility towards gun owners by President Obama has actually helped the firearms industry tremendously. Since the 2008 election, more Americans than ever before are purchasing firearms & ammunition. This has meant massive increases in sales by firearm & ammunition makers, billions more in federal and state tax collections related to guns & ammo, increased membership in the NRA, and hundreds of thousands of new Americans carrying concealed handguns. Therefore, should the firearms industry support President Obama for a second term or not?
... and some of you Freepers say I can't do anything right ...
Sorry for the confusion.
The anti-gun crowd is always using crime in their arguments. Actually suicides are 50% more than murders in this country and most others.
Winchester ammo sales are only up a net 33% over 2007? Hard to believe the increase is that low, given the fact that ammo shelves were damned near empty until 2009. Perhaps they sell 100% every year and were only able to ramp-up production by one-third, or something.
We need ‘em.
We need ‘em ALL!
After all, Barry has FUNDED his own “Private Army” better equipped and larger than the US Military—just wait until the REAL election season this fall.
Our daughter has a college friend in Wisconsin whose family has a reloading business. They had 30 employees in 2009 and have had to expand the business three times since 0 bummer got elected. They have over 300 employees now.
Back in 2009, they'd get an order and ship the same day. Now they have a 2 - 3 week waiting period before shipping. They can't keep supplies on the shelves. The girl left $65K job to be the IT person for the business.
The number 300 million guns has been around for years. It is probably higher as the gun sales over the past three years have been at least 45 million and Obama is on track to rack up numbers by the end of his tenure in excess of 60 million guns.
This is not just great sales, but world beating numbers, salesman of the Century levels of sales.
Rumour has it that Ruger sold out the entire year’s production to distributors in the second week of January.
Glad I’m not on dialup
Do they have a website?
For most of 2009, Obozo’s first year as Emperor, it was basically impossible to buy defensive/non hunting ammo in our city/county and most of the state. Walmart was constantly sold out of the major ammo and limited customers to 1 or 2 boxes. Big 5 went through the same routine. Our local sporting good store had a hard time getting hunting ammo for local hunters and often limited you or two boxes of hunting ammo.
The ammo manufacturers apparently could not keep up with the demand which increased when the nation found out that Obozo was the rat candidate in 2008.
Each new gun purchase increased the demand for ammo.
Relatives, who have been reloaders all their lifes across the nation ran into shortages during the first year.

And remember: there’s no better gift than a firearm!.
No one with the slightest interest in preserving his or her right of self-defense should even contemplate voting for another four years of Downgrade.
* * * Naturally there are all sorts of laws concerning giving firearms as gifts. The NSSA does a good job at covering the legal aspects here:
I think principally of my wife’s lovely Ladysmith.
I’m sure they have a website. I’ll ask the daughter next time I talk to her.
Yeah...I learned all about buying guns as gifts the hard way...wanted to get son a 22. Had to say I was the buyer etc etc...gave up and went to gun show and went shopping there...much easier, friendlier etc etc.
