The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Newt Gingrich will not campaign in Michigan in advance of next Tuesday's primary there:
Spokesman R.C. Hammond confirmed Monday night that the campaign is scrapping tentative plans to travel to Michigan at the end of the week ahead of the state’s Feb. 28 primary.
Gingrich is spending Tuesday and Wednesday in the other Feb. 28 primary — Arizona — but that is mostly for the sake of Wednesday night’s debate, and his public schedule will be light.

My concern is that right now the iron is hot to take out the worst one running in his birth state which knocks down the number one factor in most minds to Romney's support. Romney's running on being 'the electable one.' If he loses one of his major states - Utah, Michigan, Massachusetts, that argument goes out the window.
The previous threads with Michigan polls had a few individuals, who were Newt backers (wasn't you and the names there are clear to see in those threads), going all in ripping Santorum, spamming the threads. Then they put vanity posts up repeating some outright lies as well as media twists implying things that aren't the case. It was Romney level attacks.
That helps Romney, right at the chance to politically make him fight the rest of the way with a broken jaw.
I just wish that was the other Rick in the Gilligan hat. I see him as Newt’s little buddy.

Rick Perry should be the guy who discovers the island while prospecting for oil. By the end of the episode he decides that these people drive him so crazy he’s going to leave them abandoned on the island.

“We did better than expected, given that we didn’t campaign there - even though we came in dead last, it’s plainly obvious to any thinking human being that it’s time that every other candidate drops out and unite behind the most qualified candidate in the history of mankind. ME”
