All fossil fuels must be cut to avoid global warming, scientists say
By Mike De Souza, Postmedia News

OTTAWA — Two Canadian climate change scientists from the University of Victoria say the public reaction to their recently published commentary has missed their key message: that all forms of fossil fuels, including the oilsands and coal, must be regulated for the world to avoid dangerous global warming.

"Much of the way this has been reported is (through) a type of view that oilsands are good and coal is bad," said climate scientist Neil Swart, who co-authored the study with fellow climatologist Andrew Weaver. "From my perspective, that was not the point. . . . The point here is, we need a rapid transition to renewable (energy), and avoid committing to long-term fossil fuel use if we are to get within the limits (of reducing global warming to less than 2 C)."

The commentary, published in the British scientific journal, Nature Climate Change, estimated the impact of consuming the fuel from oilsands deposits — without factoring in greenhouse gas emissions associated with extraction and production — would be far less harmful to the planet's atmosphere than consuming all of the world's coal resources.

Crazy bastids want us to sit home and starve to detah if we don’t freeze first.

What these p[eople really want is for half the world’s population to die.

One way to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels is to reduce the population using them.

Starting with these two scientists.

They live in Canada.

How do they propose to stay warm?

Move to Florida?

Too bad global warming is a hoax. The earth could use some warming.

Imagine growing temperate region crops troughout northern Canada, Alaska, Siberia, Norway and Finland.

Corn and wheat in northern Siberia, orange groves in North Carolina and England, tomato farms in Saskatchewan - yummie.

And just think of the reduction in pollution by not having to heat all those northern homes all winter long.

Too bad it’s a hoax.

Why would a Canadian be terrified of global warming anyway?

Well, two self-identified “scientists” tell us we have to cut fossil fuel use. Guess we’ve all got to do as they dictate.

Should have been done last month when some areas where recording -65F. Then again. I guess if he where to drink enough sterno he might not have to worry to long about freezing to death.

Sorry, Charlie.
That is based entirely on computer models, otherwise known as GIGO.

If that's the best you can do, no thanks.

When you can support your theory based on actual science, I might be interested.

(Question: Is the “Dreaded Climate Change” any relation to the “Dread Pirate Roberts”?)

More likely related to Moist Dreadlocks Syndrome: they get wet, tighten up, squeezing the skull, until brain-ischemia occurs. It mainly affects the reasoning centers.

That's why Rastafarians NEVER wash their hair.

That’s what I’d like to know. As a Canadian, I say, bring it on. The sooner the better.

“So how does this square with our coming out of an ice age? (Quaternary glaciation)”

-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—

If you look at temperature records of the last half million years, it appears likely we are now slipping back INTO an Ice Age, despite the CAGW alarmists. We ARE still recovering from the “Little Ice Age” which occurred 300 or so years ago.

**CAGW == Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming
