Contraception ruling: Democrats accuse clergy of complicity with GOP at hearing
FoxNews ^ | February 16, 2012 | James Rosen

Posted on 02/21/2012 6:16:25 PM PST by prairiebreeze

"I believe today's hearing is a sham," said Rep. Gerald Connolly, D-Va., of the first of two session held by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee during the day. His tone sharp and finger pointed, Connolly went on to declare the witnesses -- who included a Catholic bishop, a Lutheran reverend, an Orthodox rabbi, and two Baptist theologians, all opposed to the administration's recent ruling -- "complicit" in the Republicans' "trampling" of House traditions that would, if observed, have produced a more balanced panel.

"You are being used for a political agenda," Connolly told the holy men, after Republicans brandished images of President Kennedy and others to buttress their points. "This is a panel designed -- with your conscious participation or not -- to try, one more time, to embarrass the president of the United States and his administration, by overstating an issue which is sacred to all Americans: religious freedom. But of course, in order to do it, we have to, in an almost Stalinist-like fashion, have signs of Democratic icons to rub Democratic faces in it, as if those icons would be on the same side of this dispute today."

Agree. Connelly is a fascist from Fascist Fairfax. He ran the place like the Gestapo.

At least he has stayed true to form. However, now the American public pays his salary. Wonder if he takes it in Deutch Marks?

Seigy Heil, you fascist bastard. Do America a favor, will ya, Jerry? Drop dead and the sooner, the better for all.

Heard a few libs at work talking this way last week. Seems to be the new “truth point”.

There is a danger of the Church getting to involved in politics. The LCMS, while very conservative, has been very careful not to play in the realm of the left hand to much. Main reason is that most politicians will sell you out in a heartbeat.

However this isn’t about politics. If the State can tell the Catholics you MUST be complicit in a mortal sin (which chemical contraception is considered), then what else can you tell them? You must marry gays?

Make no mistake, this isn’t about pills.

Once again proving there is no depth to which Democrats won’t stoop, no trick they won’t use, no moral standing they won’t trample, no individual worthy of respect they won’t torch, in an effort to rule the day.

Continually they remind me of the thirteen year old caught stealing something red handed, who none the less tries to blame their nine year old sister.

They are contemptible on so many levels.

And we can accurately accuse the media of complicity with Democrats in this matter.

You have got to be kidding me. Does he really believe what he is saying? Spewing the party line is one thing but if he truly believes that is what is happening ... merde!

Look, Congresscritter, the GOP did not invent this issue. Your own DHHS secretary thrust this upon us with no prompting from the GOP or the Catholics. That there is a joint and similar reaction is not a sign of political collusion, you dumb schmuck. It is a sign that your party has done something stupid. Seriously, are you that much of an idiot?

On a slightly different topic, I see this move by Obama as desperation - he doesn’t even have his base shored up, so he resorts to such foolishness during an election year.

This nation is being judged RIGHT NOW by God. Our punishment is Obama. Our punishment is the debt. Our punishment is the rest of the mess dimocrats and politicians on both sides have done to this Republic. God is judging us now. We are failing. America used to stand for what is good in the world. Now we stand for 54 MILLION murdered unborn children and our largest export is now PORN!!! Yup, we are being judged.

You, sir, are correct as can be.

So therefore, religious freedom is a conspiracy to embarrass the President, who is himself the most complicit in this conspiracy by reason of his deliberate trampling of religious freedom. Aesop’s fable about the donkey and the lion skin comes to mind.

Democratic icons ??? Kennedy ? Didn’t I just read where this icon was nailing a 19 yr old in His wife’s house? Didn’t I also read the icon was giving drugs to this 19 yr old ? and that the icon had this 19 yr old service his buddy at the pool?

This is akin to calling the drunk Ed Schultz a good guy after hearing that He punched out His wife, and shot His dog.

I am in awe of the depravity of human beings insofar as their ability to rationalize away the murder of children, the attacks on God, the disarmament of the nation, and the theft of their freedom, all in exchange for the “christian greater good”, as they see it, of food, jobs, various forms of creature comfort securities.

The play various “goods” against “evils” and believe they counter-balance.

The goal is to keep ALL of the instructions of God. That is the pathway to good. Any deviation of any kind is way to destruction. Any deviation requires repentance and an acceptance that it is evil and contrary to God’s will.

Here ya go:

An illegal alien, a muslim and a communist go into a bar.

The bartender asks:

"What can I get you, Mr. President?"

It actually was a very smart move. It moves the debate away from Obama’s performance, and to something that most women do and many would love for free. Chemical birth control.

By making Santorum and Newt defend their faith, the media spin machine can attack them at will without having to report on anything else. Make no mistake, this has (for now) given Obama the female vote.
