The Santorum Question: Is He Too Extreme For The Middle? [Gay Media Painting Santorum As Extreme]

The Santorum Question: Is He Too Extreme For The Middle? On abortion, same-sex marriage and other social issues, he's the most conservative of the GOP candidates. But he'll need the swing vote to win.

By Mitchell Landsberg February 21, 2012 — Rick Santorum is winning the hearts of conservative voters with uncompromising social views that, he says, are drawn from the same well as his fiscal and environmental policies: a reading of America's founding documents that stresses their Judeo-Christian underpinnings.

In friendly settings around the country, in hotel ballrooms and public school auditoriums, Santorum has framed the 2012 election as one for the very salvation of the country and its culture.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is about foundational things," he told a Republican gathering in Phoenix on Tuesday, one day before a debate with the remaining GOP candidates in Mesa, Ariz. "It is about whether we are going to be a free people."

By voting for him, Santorum said, Republicans can choose "someone who has a track record of standing up for the foundational pillars of our society: faith and family."

They also would be choosing the candidate with the most conservative views on social issues, which have been the signatures of Santorum's career. Those issues, and the sense that Santorum is the real deal — a leader who isn't afraid to say what might be politically unpopular — have electrified conservative audiences and helped fuel his surge into contention for the Republican presidential nomination.

The question is whether his views could prove too extreme to win a general election campaign, when the electorate is substantially more liberal, on balance, than Santorum.

If you want to see “extreme” I suggest looking to the left and the a$$hat clown we have in the WH telling Congress every day what it better and better not do or he is going to do it on his own!!! I call that the example of “extreme”.

“Middle” as in Independent?

I’m not a registered Republican/democrat voter, but, I am quite conservative.

Actually, I know a few gays.

They would like a strong economy.
They would like more employment opportunities.
They would like cheaper gas.
They support Israel.
They support a strong military.
They are just a bit worried about RADICAL ISLAM!

Rick can probably get better than 20% of the “gay” vote.

One look at social issues, the other at economic issues. Some people can be considered ‘extreme conservatives’ in one but not in the other.

From 1960 to today -- black family destroyed by liberalism; 50% of child-births to women under 30 are illegitimate; rampant pornography; homo "marriage" being passed daily in states; almost 50 million babies slaughtered in the womb; half of our working age people are looters, not producers; out of control drugs; one-third of the nation addicted to government "benefits"; drug cartels threatening our southern border; an ignorant usurper in the White House; government riddled with communists; people willing to cede their God-given liberties to an oppressive monstrous federal government.

And the nation is actually debating whether Santorum is too "extreme"? What a topsy turvy world we live in. The very world we live in is "extreme" far beyond anything we could have imagined 40 years ago.

No he is not. For one thing, I have seen Satan myself many times. He keeps popping up on my TV screen either at some fundraiser, golf course, or some vacation hideaway.

Question shouldn’t be is Santorum too extreme.
Statement should be, “obammy is a marxist extremist who hates america”.
