In a ruling that is binding in nine western states and sets a nationwide legal precedent; the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals found unanimously last week that the U.S. Forest Service's recreation fee programs must allow citizens to park at trail-heads and go for a hike without paying a fee.
The case (Adams v. U. S. Forest Service) was brought in 2008 by four hikers who visit the Coronado National Forest around Mt. Lemmon, near Tucson.
The San Francisco Appeals Court found the U. S. Forest Service at fault for charging parking fees to people who go for a hike without using amenities such as picnic tables, trashcans, and bathrooms located nearby, or who camp in dispersed, undeveloped parts of a National Forest.
Judge Robert Gettleman, writing for the unanimous three-judge panel, stated in the ruling that "Everyone is entitled to enter national forests without paying a cent."

Forest access fees began in 1996
No worries, other fees will go up and other schemes will be created for the Kings forest.
Wondering about launch fees at National Parks. Having to pay to use their public ramps.
Should not have to pay to boat on Federal Waters. :)
*PING* to freely enjoy the outdoors
Actually everyone isn't entitled to to enter national forests without paying a cent as the 9th circuit seems to be stating. That's a function of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, legislation, which barred charging a fee for parking and trails.
The Golden Age Pass port is the best deal going.
It permits entry to all US facilities and half off of campground fees
I go up to Uwharrie National Forest at least every couple of months. Park at a Trail Head and spend 1 or 2 nights camping out somewhere on the Uwharrie or Dutchmen’s Trails.
Never thought about Fees because they don’t charge any. Also so fees in the Birkhead Wilderness.
But that's for another thread...
Thanks for the ping, George!

Go to USAJOBS.com and you’ll see that the Forest Service is hiring 12,000 workers who will be laid off on Dec. 5. Cooking the books on unemployment stats.

When the dreamers’ eyes open, it’s always 1984, with a boot endlessly stamping on a human face.

Thanks for those quotes, Quix.
Just amazing. And remarkable that the phrase "New World Order" keeps recurring every decade for the last 100+ years.
As for Agenda 21, that seems to be the new "stealth" way of implementing the globalist platform. Sadly, there are far too many useful idiots across the country that are quite happy to hand over the rope that will eventually hang them.
What percentage of your parents and sibllings and families are awake about such?
—of your extended family?
—of your workmates?
—of your church or other social groups?
Some of those quotes are worth printing on cards and handing out, imho.
