Obama To Address Soaring Gas Prices [Oh Joy! Another speech!]
Fox Phoenix ^ | 2/22/2012

Posted on 02/22/2012 5:08:50 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

President Barack Obama will deliver a speech on energy and rising gas prices Thursday at the University of Miami, FOX News Channel reported.

White House officials told FOX the president will lay out an "all of the above" approach to the nation's energy security that he has previously outlined and will tout the fact that domestic oil production has risen on his watch while imports have decreased.

Gas prices have continued to climb in recent months, surpassing $4 per gallon in some areas.

Obama cannot take legitimate credit for increased domestic production of oil. All of that was set in motion by approved drilling permits and actions taken by the Bush team the previous eight years.

Even the drooling sycophants in the media ought to realize it takes time to get rigs in place and operational once the government paper work is done.

Obama may as well take credit for Pixar's success, too, since they've made a ton of money since he was put into power. Except he had NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR SUCCESS.

Republicans are to blame.

And the media will proudly lie about this from now until election.

“INFLATE YO TIRES”

Exactly! GHW Bush got destroyed for being disconnected from the average person. Obama is all of that. I expect his speech to be alternately scolding and condescending.

“We can’t consume all of the world’s oil.”
“Inflate your tires.”
“We use more than our share, we must conserve.”
“Buy a Volt.”

The only thing I hate more than Obama is the MSM.

All the GOP has to do Friday morning is start running the “gas prices necessarily going up speech” over and over again. Hammer it home.

Obama To Address Soaring Gas Prices

Well, good! I hope he gives those naughty gas prices a stern talkin' to.

What a charade.

Libs and RATS and the whores in Big Media (but I repeat myself) accused President Bush of manipulating gas prices heading into the 2008 election. As we all know, RATS always accuse Republicans of engaging in the very acts they themselves engage in. We've all seen how the stock market magically goes up every time Urkel gets another trillion dollars to spend so why should we be surprised if gas prices suddenly start falling after a run up?

And, again magically, right before the election. My guess is gas will be back down around 3.50 a gallon come November and President Clouseau will run around crowing (is that racist?) about how he prevented gas prices from going to ten dollars a gallon or some such b.s.

Speech:
I wanted the Keystone pipeline, Republicans blocked it
My administration has opened up more oil fields than any other in history, Republicans are blocking the permit process
I wanted to lower the federal tax on gas taxes, Republicans have blocked that
My administration is trying to fund alternative energy business, Republicans are blocking the funding
I want you to beleive everything thing I am saying today, it is not my fault it is the fault of the Republicans

My guess is that the speech will be a complication of all of Obama’s past energy speeches. Bush's fault, stupid Republicans putting a stop to the Keystone Pipeline, bla bla bla.

Even if I knew without a doubt that Obama knew what he was talking about, I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of his lying mouth.

I kinda think he may say something like:
“It is ALL the fault of the oil companies and George Bush, an oil man you know. Right now, Venezuelan gas prices are under $2.00 a gallonm while here in the United States gas prices are approaching $4.00 a gallon. This is unacceptable. The only way for us to get gas prices under control is to nationalize the oil companies like their great leader Hugo Chavez did.”
or something like that.

“Somehow,” Chu said, “we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

Democrats favorite talking point on drilling

It takes years to get the Oil online

Yet like Nazi Germany Obama will take credit for Oil Permits done under Bush.

If we had a PRESS they would ask what Oil Permits YOU SIGNED that are online.

These will be the Bingo phrases for this “speech”:

GOP caused me to cancel, er, put on hold for review the Keystone Pipeline.

Production is up in my administration (not on US lands though).

We need to punish renegade oil companies that gouge workers.

I have expedited areas for leasing (off off shore Brazil but not here.)

I will provide oil from the strategic reserve to combat high prices (and charge the 10% replenishment fee for any company stupid to follow this ploy).

No, that excuse was used when Bush the “oilman” was President.

Now that Obama is President, high gas prices are a sign of a “rebounding economy.”

And if you don't figure in gas prices and food prices, there is no inflation either.

The increased domestic production of oil is largely taking place on private leases the government has been unable to shut down. It has been done in spite of government efforts to slow or stop it. I'm in North Dakota, where there is relatively little Federal Land, and the Bakken boom is going great guns. As an example of the petty slings and arrows thrown at the oil companies here, seven producing companies were taken to court because an extensive survey by Federal agents found a whopping total of 28 dead birds (on some 6000 producing locations).

I'd hazard a guess that windmills account for a far higher toll on birds, but no mention was made of that, even when the Feds were asked.

My guess is that the Dems are trying to raise oil prices, through domestic policy, through interference in North Africa (making Iran a more necessary source for Europe), the Middle East, and interference in central Africa as well. Supporting the Mexican Drug Cartels (Fast and Furious, money laundering by the DEA, etc) only keeps things destabilized there (another source of imported oil), and the blocking of the Keystone Pipeline makes imports from Canada more difficult.

When the (refinery bid) price gets high enough, partly due to domestic policy, and partly due to geopolitical situations this administration has helped create, they will carp about "greedy Big Oil" and push for nationalizing oil production. They have already expressed a desire to do so.

Anyone who is not paying attention to the industry might be fool enough to buy in.

“Obama and his party want higher gas prices so why the speech?”

We have quotes by HIM AND HIS PEOPLE clearly stating this, with the words clearly coming out of their cake-holes. There is NO SPIN AVAILABLE to counter this, nor is there any way available to inoculate the public against it (although this is obviously the purpose of the speech). Not even the finest spin doctors/liars of this administration can make these words go away.

I had better see and hear these quotes 500 times on TV and print before November.

Good summary of the dim talking points. One of our problems is that the dims are good soldiers and stick to the script. The GOP just flails around in response. No excuse for Boehner and McConell not having their troops on the same page yet every sunday we see GOPers freelancing on TV. If we lose in November it will be because those fools lost the plot and let barry off the hook.

FRiend, you are right. But unfortunately we have been through this before. This reminds me of Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Rezko, and all the other barry trash. If the GOP does not carpet bomb the message that high oil prices are what barry wants most people will never hear about it because the MSM is in barry’s shorts.

If credit is to be taken in any area, Obama will take it, whether he has earned it or not. Remember, he did say he was a great president. Did a wonderful job of patting himself on the back while fat mama took her 16th government paid vacation in three years! Spend spend spend. That is all these dregs of life know. She did say that we were going to pay for all those years she suffered at our hands.
