This is a serious question. Our very liberties are at stake and my sense is that Americans either: a. do not understand the system of government called for by our Constitution or b. have opted to scrap the Constitution and want a communist form of government. Why else would they vote for Obama?
Which do you think it is, or are their other explanations?

To find the true answer to this question do a search for Communists Goals, The Frankfurt School, and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Those show the intent, how long they have been at it and the tactics they use. It is discouraging how close they are to obtaining all their goals.

Bingo. I'd wager that 1/3 of obama voters could not even provide a high-school-level definition of communism.
Before the 2008 election, I warned a 20-something co-worker that obama was a proponent a socialism. He said, "Isn't that when the corporations control everything?" He was an obama supporter.

My workplace is filled with university-educated liberals. There is none that I’ve talked to that regret voting for the 0bama0. They will all enthusiastically vote for it again.
In my family are university educated liberals. They are the same.
It’s only we rednecks in the family, and here at work, that take exception to communists.
One of the guys at work calls himself a “progressive”. Just a euphemism for commie.

I, too, am 73 and have been attentive to it since the 1940s. I had two uncles in WWII and the entire household was keen on any news about it. They also, unfortunately, were FDR fans but I think that is more because the media were championing him and his New Deal.
A very popular young athlete in our neighborhood was killed in Korea when the Chinese stormed across the border at the Chosin Reservoir. That brought that war home also. The 60s were hippie time and once again the media trumpeted the destruction of our value system with drugs and free love (sex). One of its main purposes was to win the Vietnam war for the Communists. It worked as they built support for the Democrats to betray our ally, the South Vietnamese.
What a lot of people don’t know and something I did not list, is the real beginning of the Communist push in this country. That is Vladimir Lenin sending Julius and Armand Hammer to the U.S. in the late 1800s to raise money to support the beginning of the Communist movement in Russia and in their eventual overthrow of Tsar Nicholas II.
Hammer was very successful and among his early recruits to the cause were Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, whose family controlled and published The New York Times, and Senator Albert Gore, Sr., of Tennessee. Ever since, both have been agents for the Communist Party in the USA. It is an interesting story and everyone should learn it. As part of that, do research on Al Gore and the Elk Hills Naval Petroleum Reserve in California and Occidental Petroleum (owned by Armand Hammer) and oil drilling in South America. Brazil, I think but not sure.
The Democrats were strongly opposed to drilling in both places but as VP Gore pulled strings and opened the door for Occidental in both places. Elk Hills was being held in reserve for use by the navy in times of war, thus the name. The Democrats opposed oil drilling in SA because they said it would destroy the “rain forest” and disturb the native indians ancestral home. They had stopped efforts by other U.S. oil companies to drill there. Occidental said to hell with all that and plowed ahead.
I have lived it all and I always payed attention.
The education about our history was replaced about 15-20 years ago by only history from the 1960’s onward.The youngsters have been indoctrinated to this begin a good thing and there is nothing you can do to get them to realize that this is all a lie.I guess once we all all enslaved they may realize it wasn’t such a good idea?

The Chinese army came across the Korean border in the thousands....I have heard (probably you have also) people talk about doing something with N. Korea. They probably aren't up the geography and don't know Korea borders Communist china.
The MSM was worse back in the Nam days, there was no alternative voice to that nit wit Walter Cronkite.. and Johnson once bragged in an interview that nothing was bombed in Nam unless he gave the ok....Typical democrat president with the blood of thousands on his hands.
Even today with the rules of engagement for our military, send our men out and then tie their hands, may all that do that go to hell....The ridiculous don't urinate toward Mecca makes a farce, not out of men but those gutless wonders, powdered princes in the upper ranks of the military..It seems that the lawyers in the military get off on taking our warriors to Court Marshal...when they are innocent of the charges...God, how I hate them and I never thought I would say that about anyone...
You and I are in complete agreement. I don’t know what in my reply may have made you think differently but I was not offended by anything you said. I was just trying to say that since we are the same age that I saw things the same way you did. My explanation was just to verify that, not to say anything offensive.
Most people in America haven’t ever learned how evil and bloodthirsty the 100 year experiment in Communism was for the Soviet Union and China. Schools have been infiltrated already so that the facts were not taught.
