Santorum "homophobic," former Senator says

(CBS News) Former Senator Alan Simpson had some choice words for his one time colleague, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum.

"I know Santorum, I served with him," he said. "He is rigid and a homophobic. He believes that gays and lesbians, he mentioned in an interview in 2003, about bestiality, and gays and lesbians. I think that's disgusting," said Simpson.

The former three-term Senator from Wyoming has always been known for both his candor and his ability to work across party lines, said Republicans are hurting themselves by focusing on social issues.

"Here's a party that believes in government out of your life, the precious right of privacy and the right to be left alone. How then can they be the hypocrisy of fiddling around in these social issues? We won't have a prayer," he told Bob Schieffer in an interview for CBS News's Face to Face, a weekly web interview from the staff of Face the Nation.

If there is any concern with public health, then let it be understood that male homosexuals are the #1 vector for the spread of infectious diseases among humans and are an unnecessary public health threat costing the system billions. Male homosexuals have the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS, syphilis, drug-resistant gonorrhea, entamoeba histolytica, chlamydia, herpes simplex II, Chancroid, Drug Resistant TB, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis non A & B, just to name a few.

You are correct and this is one of the few cogent replies on this thread. Every time Mitch Daniels says the same thing, folks on this board lambaste him with boiling spit, but the fact is that the most important issue is to stop the steady slide of our Republic into a socialist quagmire. If the Republicans prefer their precious social issues to basic liberty and freedom, they will lose to Obama once again and we the people are likely to lose everything we cherish. Once our liberty is gone, there will be no discussion of any social issues, other than “social justice”.

I have worked in public health for too long and seen it all. The picture of “the gay lifestyle” is very disgusting from a public health official standpoint. Most people have no idea. It is the general public’s misfortune to have this deviance marketed by hollywood’s homosexual writers.

A gay man served as a top-level senior aide to Senator Rick Santorum for ten years. That the virulently anti-gay Santorum — who has also this week taken heat for remarks that appeared to be racist — would hire a gay man who also happens to be black no doubt will leave many Americans scratching their heads.

We need more people who (like you) have worked first hand with, and know the facts of this matter from a public health perspective and are willing to step forward and simply tell the truth. What homosexuals (I refuse to call them by their hijacked name 'gay') fail to understand is a very simple rule of nature which is:
"the ANUS is an EXIT, not an ENTRY".
