Ann Coulter: WHAT'S THEIR PROBLEM WITH ROMNEY? (It's a Loooong List Ann)

WHAT'S THEIR PROBLEM WITH ROMNEY?

February 22, 2012
As governor of one of the most liberal states in the union, Mitt Romney did something even Ronald Reagan didn't do as governor of California: He balanced the budget without raising taxes.

Romney became deeply pro-life as governor of the aforementioned liberal state and vetoed an embryonic stem cell bill. (Meanwhile, Newt Gingrich lobbied President George W. Bush to allow embryonic stem cell research.)

Romney's approach to illegal immigration in Massachusetts resembled what Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona is doing today, making her a right-wing heroine.

Romney pushed the conservative alternative to national health care that, had it been adopted in the 49 other states, would have killed Obamacare in the crib by solving the health insurance problem at the state level.

Unlike actual Establishment candidates, Romney has never worked in Washington, much less spent his entire life as a professional politician. He's had a Midas touch with every enterprise he has ever run, including Bain Capital, the Olympics and Massachusetts.

The chestnut about Mitt Romney being pushed on unsuspecting conservatives by "the Establishment" is the exact opposite of the truth. The Establishment, by any sensible definition, is virulently opposed to Romney -- and for completely contradictory reasons.

The entire NFM (non-Fox media) hate Romney because he is the only candidate who stands a chance of beating Obama.

Meanwhile, many of the pillars of the conservative establishment also implacably oppose Romney. Fox News is neutral, but its second-highest-rated host, Sean Hannity, is anti-Romney, as is prominent Fox News contributor Sarah Palin -- who has also offered herself up as a possible presidential nominee at a contested convention. (Wouldn't a former candidate for vice president on a major party's ticket be part of the Establishment?)

The No. 1 conservative talk-radio host in America, Rush Limbaugh, is critical of Romney, and another top conservative talk-radio host, Mark Levin, is adamantly against Romney -- though both Limbaugh and Levin supported Romney as the conservative alternative to John McCain in 2008, and Romney has only gotten better since then.

I remember the election of 2008 well.

I, and the smallish number of other Republicans who actually got themselves to the polls, vowed to support whomsoever came out of the convention as THE candidate. Holding our noses, we did what we perceived as our duty to God, Country, and Party. By the time McCain (An incompetent fool with unlimited beer money) got around to fouling the well with as series of truly stupid moves, culminating in back-stabbing Palin, it was too late!

The Coulter-type people don't believe Romney is a "Conservative" any more than you or I do. The rationale is that he is the "Middle of the Roader" who can beat The Mombasa MF ... because these Rovians thought that ANYONE could beat the Mombasa Marxist and that a RINO would be the least likely to upset the lucrative GOP status quo. As a secondary thought, they figured that Romney could lose, but bring strength "downticket" to give The GOP control of Congress, which is what they really want and don't mind at all losing the WH for.

The scenario ... and let's face it, largely stimulated by the MSM's feverish promotion of the Republican primaries and "debates" ... has spiraled out of the RINO GOP Establishment's control. Establishment's control. Establishment's control.

Ann, bless her skinny little heart, is a RINO Establishment Republican Cocktail Circuit Washington DC Regular Log Cabin Democrat-Dating Wall Street TV Fashionista, not a Woman of The Main Street Republicans. In the lock-step RINO Establishment School of Thought, she and her coterie also feel that Romney might appeal to "independents," although they are not sure! (RINOs have never figured out that "Independent Voter" = "Democrat Voter!" )

A free market in health care was not in the cards. Federal law and regulations require that any emergency room treat anyone with a need. The options are:
1. Enslave doctors, nurses, and nationalize hospitals.
2. Steal from other ER patients, to cover expenses of ‘free’ care to indigents
3. Require health insurance with a big enough fine for non-compliance so you would chose to comply with the law.
4. Require health insurance with a small fine for non-compliance and subsidize the government program to cover costs from taxes and borrowing.

1 and 2 are not conservative. They are communist or anarchist.
3 is conservative.
4 is essentially Obamacare and not conservative.

The federal government mandate causes the problem. As a state governor, you can’t change federal laws.

What would be a good solution? In a free republic if you wanted to help pay for the health care of the indigent, you would not be stopped. Nor would you be forced.

Romney’s law in Mass. was not a national health care, but was in response to a federal law requiring treatment regardless of the ability to pay at emergency rooms. Mass is a state.

I am kind of amused. We have a situation here: Newt, a Catholic has had 3 wives, and Romney, the Mormon, only one.

So people spin Romney as a pervert, and Gingrich with his record of numerous affairs as moral.

I see Santorum and Newt as liberal big government types. McCain aka McBackstabber, was never the Republican establishment. Romney was his conservative opposition.

He balanced the budget without raising taxes.

Right off the bat we get lies based on smoke and mirrors from Ms Coulter. Is it a 'tax' when they raise fees 700 million bucks? We didn't use the offensive word "tax", so taking extra money from us hand over fist must not count as a tax.

As Santorum pointed out last night, a balanced budget is the law in Massachusetts. By that standard, he said, Michael Dukakis should be president, because he had more balanced budgets than Romney did.

Ann Coulter must have learned the fine art of lying from her liberal cohorts. It appears to have rubbed off all the way to her innards.

Hmmmm...

That's twice now (Post #57 too) that you've "thanked" me for posting on this thread. I can only assume that you're being sarcastic, and that you're angry with me for my post # 9, wherein I succinctly stated that I would NOT go to anncoulter.com to read any more of her logic-twisting drivel.

However, if you're NOT being sarcastic with me, then I'm quite happy to say "You're welcome." I will happily bump any thread that has you as the original poster.

That said, know this: I will NOT give Ann Coulter hits on her private blog.

Why should I, Syncro?

McCain won the nomination because states like Florida allowed crossover voting. I think it was an organized effort by Democrats to choose our nominee for us.

Not only that, the GOP was in on it too.

They, the dems, and the Soros' of the world combined their efforts to put Obama in the white house.

They all wanted to be part of the historical event of having a "black" in the presidentcy.

Didn't matter to them who it was, just so he was NOT conservative.

Wasn't that a movie?

The Scent of a Bias or sumpin’ like that.

*sigh* If only she was biased because of her affection for me...oh well.

She would be writing conservatively again!

I did get her on the defensive, that's why she said this:

Romney pushed the conservative alternative to national health care that, had it been adopted in the 49 other states, would have killed Obamacare in the crib by solving the health insurance problem at the state level. (Of course, that would cause all the other states to use almost half of their budgets to fund those monstrosities)
Note the addition to the title in my post of her last weeks column:

But.. but Ann! Isn't that a tacit admission that such a problem exists?
Isn't that letting the left dictate the narrative? Like with global warming?

Let's face it, I've got her on the run...

Indeed.

She'll fall into line any day now. I have no doubt.

“Ann: how long do you have to live in places like Manhattan or Washington, DC before Ruling Class Envy takes hold of your senses and shakes them into an intoxicated state of drooling subservience?
Our problem with Romney is the same “problem” that you would have had, once: he’s not a conservative. He’s not interested in conservative ideas. He has no core beliefs other than Mitt Romney. The GOP Establishment does love him, and they do so because he reflects their deepest value: masochism. They love to be beaten.

Look: it’s not us, Ann. It’s you. If you can still hear me and comprehend: get your bony ass out of Washington. It’s destroying your mind. And you might want to eat a couple of bacon cheeseburgers on the way out of town, if only because liberals would disapprove. Besides: real men like women who look like women, not like some gay fashion director’s idyllic vision of a woman, which is, in reality, a pale young boy with haunted eyes.”
