Daniel von Bargen, a character actor who played Mr. Kruger on "Seinfeld," is in critical condition after shooting himself in the head, according to a report on TMZ.
Von Bargen's film credits include "Super Troopers," "Basic Instinct," and "O Brother, Where Art Thou" among others.

Very sad. A great actor. I know diabetics can get depressed real easy.
To have lost a leg and maybe another has got to very depressing.

Not only physical sickness either. Mental makes you hurt so bad sometimess that you feel like nothing is worth it. And you think “the world would be better without me”, but the truth would be you would be hurting everyone you know.. And people who love you.

Sad. Just heard the 911 call (which he placed himself). Amazingly lucid and calm. Used a .38. Always heard that the way to do it was barrel in the mouth (takes out the crucial parts of the brain in the back of the skull). That’s the way I’d do it.
Sad news. I loved his character and he was a very good actor. Gave me a lot of smiles.
I hope he can recover, and more important I hope he finds peace.
Guess he has more things to worry about than a pesky mole now.
It’s also a lesson for me, since I might have the Type 2 diabetes. I *just might* want to keep an eye on that, lest I start dropping legs.
Doc told me I am pre-diabetic need to drop 70 pounds and I’m taking him seriously. 55 more pounds to go.
Denial is working pretty well for me.
