While I’m not yet on the Santorum bandwagon, I think he’s done quite well in the debates. He says the right things.
BTW what a tragic story about the 4 year old girl who died after an old, large tv fell on her. When I told the news gals this morning they cried.
Mrs p6 still uses them because when she breaks the wax seal she has a lid to go back on.
Can’t wait for Hussein to “fix” gas prices tonight! /sarcasm
There have been a lot of those accidents reported lately. The news break sounded like the little girl was still alive—hoping they are reporting correctly.
One little thing—the Fox news sound byte about the oil—how many times did he reference then_resident as (emphasis on) MISTER Obama.
What time does Buh-Rock grace us with his presence?
HUGE prayers up for Mr. Sneaks! That’s getting to be too many surgeries. I handled two within a week but hey, it takes a while to recover and get all the surgery junk out of your system.
Thanks, P6. The doc shot my bad knee with cortizone yesterday. Oh, I WISH I had today off. My legs and back feel great and I’m getting tons done without tiring. Got to take advantage of this while I can.
No the girl died. I got it straight from several WTAE and WPXI reporters on the scene.
Not sure when the speech is. It seems to me it was supposed to be 8 but I’m not positive.
Oh, and great news about your BIL. Stupid, damn cancer. Hope he’s able to eat really well and keep his system firing up.
That is heartbreaking.
Last night BIL really chowed down on my latest culinary adventure. A pork butt and chuck rroast slow cooked with a home brew kinda bbq sauce of crushed tomatoes, mushrooms, brown sugar and some spices served as pulled meat on honey buns. The large oval crockpot was filled and there’s hardly any left this morning.
Today I’m using the leftover stock to make a spicey beef noodle soup. Probably no one else will like it but it’s a treat for me especially with sauteed onion grilled cheese sandwiches as a side.
Sometime soon I hope to make tomato, basil chicken casserole which is a Betty’s Kitchen YouTube recipe that looks good, but probably fattening, LOL! But even with all the cooking and eating I’ve been doing I’m down to 217 which is about ten pounds lost in a couple of weeks!
The wax is OK to use on jams and jelly you know you will eat soon, but it really is better to process your jars instead. Hot water bath is easy and only takes 10 to 15 minutes of process time. Then you know your can foods are safe.
I come from a family who did lots of canning.(1940) I still do can but always use hot water bath process to seal everything. :)
I do too - even if it says you don’t have to. What I’d really like to learn is pressure canning. I can fruit, jam, pickles tomatoes and relish, but have steered clear of meats and non-acidic vegetables. I dry and freeze those.
