I don't trust him because...
1. he claims to be "conservative" but fiscally didn't vote like a conservative.
2. He took money froma school district in PA to homeschool his children in VA.
3. Arlen Specter
4. Arlen Specter
5. Arlen Specter
6. I don't like him.
How can you justify defending him?
Look, I am not defending his other records.
His past record is fair game for criticism and debate ( but fairly please and within context ).
I am questioning ONE SPECIFIC claim you made ( which you have thus far not made one reasonable explanation for ) -— that he believes women’s place is in the kitchen and barefoot.
I want YOU to defend that statement.
Bringing up Arlen Specter and the fact that you don’t like him does not explain your statement.
I may dislike a person, but it does not give me the moral right to accuse him of something he does not believe in.
I don’t need any time. We are talking past each other, and most probably agree. I said you can’t legistlate morality. I know whenever anyone says ‘convential’ in front of wisdom it is because they know something the ‘smarty pants’ don’t know. In this case the the conventialist are right. Now certainly almost all laws have moral components, you still can’t force peopel to comply. I am not the enemy my friend. I am through with this silly argument. Have a great day. I hope Rick does well in Michigan, it will help Newt. I know you probably don’t see that either. I don’t care. :)
If I could I would draw you a picture...then you might get it!
He stated in so many words that a woman's place is in the home and his wife has had 7 kids. That's self-explanatary, IMO.
BTW, I don't give a flip what you want or don't want.
RE: If I could I would draw you a picture...then you might get it!
Sure, draw me a picture and I’ll try to see if it’s an accurate depiction of what you described.
RE: He stated in so many words that a woman’s place is in the home and his wife has had 7 kids. That’s self-explanatary, IMO.
NOPE. I’ve heard him speak at a Catholic School here in NY. He said it is PREFERABLE but not always necessary that women be there for their children when they come home. EMPHASIS ON ‘not always necessary”.
He also praised women who set aside their careers to be homemakers and said that mothers who prioritize their children ought to be held up for admiration in our society.
The Q&A asked him to clarify his statement and he DID say that if necessity requires a woman to have a career, of course it’s OK, AS LONG AS SHE MANAGES THE HOUSEHOLD IN SUCH A WAY TO MAKE SURE THE CHILDREN’s MORAL UPBRIGNING ARE NOT NEGLECTED.
A preference is NOT an imposition.
So NO, it does not justify your statement.
I see nothing in his speech that tells us he WANTS women barefoot in the kitchen and that is his ideal for our society.
RE: BTW, I don’t give a flip what you want or don’t want.
DITTO. But you’re the one using your own personal thinking as an argument not me. Who was the one who used the words : “I don’t like him”?, not me.
Get a life!
Follow your own advise.
LOL!
LOL! yourself.
You don't have a clue how unimaginatively boring you are, do you?.
RE: You don’t have a clue how unimaginatively boring you are, do you?.
I don’t think you find me boring at all :) Other wise, why engage someone you find boring?
