Just as he did following the death of New York Times reporter Anthony Shadid in Syria, White House press secretary Jay Carney began his daily briefing by praising the work of Marie Colvin, the Sunday Times reporter who also was killed there on Wednesday.

Carney called their deaths "tragic," and "a reminder of the incredible risks that journalists take ... in order to bring the truth about what is happening in a country like Syria to those of us at home."

But, Obama's press secretary seemed unprepared for a hard line of questioning from ABC News senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper, who took issue with the administration's applause of aggressive reporting abroad while trying to silence it at home in the United States.

Liasson apparently doesnt approve of Jake Tappers line of questioning.

You'd think she'd be smarter than to telegraph her bias.

He praised her work?

Is he familiar with her work? Was she very pro-Obama?

or was he just being polite?

Not sure if the lady was brave or crazy.

She went on patrol with the KLA (terrorists) in Kosovo.

You make your own call.

But Carney didn’t say a word about the seven US Marines who were also killed that day protecting us. IIRC, during Bush’s presidency, the Boston Globe Sewer Worker every day published the names of US troops that had been killed that day. Somehow the Globe stopped doing that as soon as Obama was inaugurated.

She received a warning from the great beyond while hanging out with Tamil rebels in 2001 & lost an eye.

Guess she wasn't listening.

You'd think they'd want to show some continuity, especially since Obama doubled the number of American dead in Afghanistan in three short years.

Yep.

I have read about spec. ops going native. Seems to me she partnered with the wrong side too often.

Only in areas where the leftymedia has decided it's okay for to be 'aggressive'; i.e. military, intelligence reporting and areas of conservative 'excess' whether real or imagined.

In areas where the media is not interested in being 'aggressive', such as Fast and Furious, 0bama's background and associations and accurate financial reporting ... well, they just choose not to go there.

Jake Tapper slams it to Carney every day in these briefings. Tapper and Ed Henry from FOX are great reasons to watch.
