KABUL -- Afghanistan wants NATO to put on public trial those who burned copies of the Quran at a NATO base, President Hamid Karzai's office said Thursday, after a third day of bloody protests over the incident.
It said NATO had agreed to a trial, but that could not be immediately confirmed.
Karzai had earlier accused a U.S. officer of "ignorantly" burning copies of the Quran, in an incident that has deepened anti-Western sentiment in a country NATO is trying to stabilize before foreign combat troops leave by the end of 2014.
Demonstrations have drawn thousands of angry Afghans to the streets, chanting "Death to America!" amid violence that has killed 11 people including two U.S. service personnel.

We’ve got about two choices here. Encourage the Taliban to enter the 21st century with the rest of civilization, or reduce their numbers.

Get US troops out and end the “nation building” fantasy.
A new strategy for Af-Pak should be destabilization. Arm everyone, let them fight each other, and use airpower or special forces as necessary. Same with Pakistan. Encourage them break into their tribal/ethnic/religious factions, and encourage India to dismember them. Make them all weak
It is inevitable Af-Pak will return to a pre- 9/11 situation, but this time, don’t be afraid to attack when/where necessary, or support opponents of any Islamists who return.
It will become messy on the ground, so it is very important that citizens/natives of these countries are not allowed into the USA.
We should have leveled Afghanistan 10 years ago and then left whatever savages survived to clean up the mess. These filthy, duplicitious bastards aren’t worth one precious drop of American blood.

Especially since we would of course have to aid them after we bomb them to bloody muslim hell. Every one dead is one less to feed afterwards. We have a budget to worry about.

Article says an Afghani soldier turned on our guys and shot a bunch,killed 2 then maybe escaped fleeing into the crowd. Obamas dear friends the Taliban claim he was one of the4irs planted into the Afghan army.

So, some terrorist detainees were using versus from the Koran’s we supplied to them to stir up more terror mindedness amongst the other detainees, quoting from the Koran, and we took them away and sent them to be burned.

These prisoners should be in solitatiry confinement and subjected to strong interrogation techniques, yes, including water boarding, until we squeeze evey bit of info we can out of them.
Then, under the Geneva convention, as irregulars, they should be summarily executed.
If the populations around there don’t like it and riot in protest and in support of the terrorist enemies, then treat them the same way we treated the German and Japanese populations in World War II who supported the Nazis and the Emperor...meaning we bomb and fire bomb their cities, towns, villages, and huts until they all abjectly surrender and want NO MORE of fundamental Islam.
Until they demand fundamentalists either leave their area or they hunt them down themselves to end our reprisals.
Thats how we defeated the Nazis and the Imperialists and we have had good Germans and Japanese ever since.

The ground in Afghanistan has been cursed since the first Muslim set foot on it.
The middle east is a lost cause. they are stoneage barbarians that can’t be reasoned with and they have no ability to think logically. they had it all wrong when they went into these countries in the first place. It was a collosal waste of life, time and money. It’s a black hole of nothingness. limit muslims getting visas into this country. time to get out!
Sterilize the fields afterward. In the old days, salt was used. Today, I am sure we have something more effective... like a Neutron bomb.
