Midwesterners, eh? hm, if only there were an area of the country with lots of swing states and a decent amount of electoral votes...

I think tea party sentiment is also strongest here in the midwest.

Yeah never mind he is the weakest Presidential candidate in history with virtually no serious plans for what to do with the job. No just blindly vote for the guy who best regurgitates the religious slogans you want to hear.
Hey, about we worry about the future of near bankrupt, economically stagnant USA instead of the culture wars for once?

Well, I don’t have anything against Santo, but his tax plan of favoring manufacturing is not going to work, is more picking winners and losers in society, and will not unite republicans at all.

A new Gallup poll shows:
Santorum has a 22 percentage point advantage (44 to 22 percent) among those who attend worship weekly
A 19 percentage point advantage (40 to 21 percent) among those who live in the Midwest
An 18 percentage point advantage (42 to 24 percent) among conservatives over main rival Mitt Romney.
Willard the Magic Liberal should just give it up. He’s done.

I agree.
If GOP voters are foolish enough to nominate Santorum, they (we) deserve another 4 miserable years of Obama.
It’s so obvious that Newt Gingrich is the candidate who can best take on the Marxist and defeat him, with words and ideas.

IOW, Santorum’s support is coming from the people who make this country work correctly.
To: MNJohnnie
At this point, its him or Gingrich. They are the only two left standing if you are conservative, unless you want the Dingbat Paul or “Mittens”.
Right now Santorum is ahead of Gingrich, so I’m backing him. If it reverses and Gingrich pulls ahead, I’m for him.
We don;t need Mittens in the White House.

“Santorum hails from a Midwestern state, Pennsylvania,...”
Umm...take it from this Pennsylvanian, we are NOT a Midwestern state. I live outside of Philadelphia and can drive to the Atlantic Ocean within one hour.
We are a Northeast or a Mid-Atlantic state. I’m not bragging by the way.

Man, have you seen all the bigoted attacks on Santorum by the Mormons, knocking the Christian faith as false, etc?
Me either.

Well said! And spot on......This country will go down the tubes under the hand of a religious zealot who legislates accordingly and distributes the tax payers money to the needy, because he believes he is ordained by God to decide what is right and wrong. It's one of the main reasons the founders separated Church and State. To avoid the problems that Europe had under a Theocracy.

Short answer: Santorum strongest in red states, exactly what you’d expect of a social conservative. I think that if he gets into the general election, he will also have support among “Reagan Democrats” who are blue-color union types with family values and he’ll also have some attraction for Catholics who might find Santorum more appealing than Obama.

Wait--a good man, a solid social conservative with only one wife and an outstanding track record on standing up for traditional morality is getting a majority of the church-going vote?
Will wonders never cease?

Dude, drive 45 minutes west and you are in the midwest. Small towns, farms, different accent, gun culture, the whole she-bang.
