Gay Dallas Judge Won't Perform Straight Marriages

Dallas County Judge Tonya Parker says she won't perform marriage ceremonies until homosexuals can be wed.

During a Feb. 21 meeting, Parker told the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas that while she has the power to perform legal marriage ceremonies in her court, she will not.

“I use it as my opportunity to give them a lesson about marriage inequality in this state because I feel like I have to tell them why I’m turning them away,” Parker said. “So I usually will offer them something along the lines of, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t perform marriage ceremonies because we are in a state that does not have marriage equality, and until it does, I am not going to partially apply the law to one group of people that doesn’t apply to another group of people.’ And it’s kind of oxymoronic for me to perform ceremonies that can’t be performed for me, so I’m not going to do it."

I don’t know if that officiating at marriages is a required portion of her duties as a sworn judge but if it is she should be summoned in front of a judicial review board and either sanctioned or made to resign.

You and everyone else knew this was coming, didn’t you?

It’s like everything else the left does, in increments -

asks for tolerance
demands acceptance
uses gov’t to punish non-acceptance
uses gov’t to make you pay for their choices
uses gov’t to enforce their intolerance on you
forces compliance from others to choose only their choices

Yep, makes you wonder, how homosexuals have come to dominate our social/political debates and policies.

Homosexuals are somewhere from 2 to 5% of the population. Perhaps a bit higher, when you figure that they include bi-sexual and sexually confused in the “LGBT” community.

Even so, we have become beholden to a small minority which is sexually confused about our sexuality. Now we have to make laws and social policies which cater to a small minority which is outside of the mainstream behavior. Why have we gotten to such a point?

If performing marriages is part of her duties as a judge, then she has no option of refusing. Doing so puts her in violation of her employment agreement and is grounds for termination, either by firing or impeachment.

Listen, lady. YOU work for US, not vice versa!

Obviously she needs to be fired/removed.

If a judge only enforces laws they like or don’t like, that means the law in that area of the country is what one person wants it to be. Regardless if citizens voted otherwise, regardless if the legislature votes otherwise.

That’s not what judges are supposed to do. They leave their personal beliefs out of it. It’s called being IMPARTIAL.

And if anyone says otherwise, that’s the statement Supreme Court justices always say. They don’t form prior opinions. They don’t let their own biases influence their decisions.

If anyone says that’s just for Supreme Court justices, ask them where the candidates for Supreme Court are groomed. LOWER COURTS. Where they are expected to act the same way.

When I think of that student who has had to file a lawsuit because she is being prohibited from getting her Master’s Degree in counseling because she has admitted that her Christian faith would not allow her to endorse homosexuality (and this is no different from other conflicts of interest where counselors refer people to other counselors...e.g., a male counselor who might not be the best individual to counsel a female rape victim), and then I read this stuff, it makes my blood boil.

Talk about shifting sand.

Keep in mind their final “prize”, or that of the driving force behind them -

they seek to criminalize Christianity.

It’s not - she makes extra money on the side for performing marriage ceremonies. County Judges, JPs and Municipal Court Judges do most of the civil ceremonies in Texas.

Ironically the law is the same for all people. Any consenting adult male can marry any consenting adult female and vice-versa. What's not permitted is for one member of either sex to marry a member of the same sex. Same-o, same-o. It's time for the sane people of America to stand up and speak out against the abominations that wish to destroy us.
This judge needs to be removed from the bench.

(a slight rewrite)

Dallas County Judge Tonya Parker says she won’t provide justice for white people until black people have criminal conviction equality with white people.

During a Feb. 21 meeting, Parker told the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas that while she has the power to hear the court cases of white people in her court, she will not.

“I use it as my opportunity to give them a lesson about white prejudice in this state because I feel like I have to tell them why I’m turning them away,” Parker said.

“So I usually will offer them something along the lines of, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t give justice to white people because we are in a state that is unfair to black people, and until it is fair to black people, I am not going to send black people to prison and not send white people to prison.’

And it’s kind of oxymoronic for me to hear cases that won’t give me the same justice as for white people, so I’m not going to do it.”
