The State Department has begun coordinating with Syria's neighbors to prepare for the handling of President Bashar al-Assad's extensive WMD assets if and when his regime collapses, The Cable has learned.
This week, the State Department sent a diplomatic demarche to Syria's neighbors Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, warning them about the possibility of Syria's WMDs crossing their borders and offering U.S. government help in dealing with the problem, three Obama administration officials confirmed to The Cable. For concerned parties both inside and outside the U.S. government, the demarche signifies that the United States is increasingly developing plans to deal with the dangers of a post-Assad Syria -- while simultaneously highlighting the lack of planning for how to directly bring about Assad's downfall.

Remember the first criticism of Bush was that he let Sadam move his weapons into Syria before the Bush lied meme came about?
Or did I just dream that part?
If they find warehouse of WMD’s with “Made in Iraq” printed on them I’ll bet it will never be uttered in the MSM.
Rule #1 - Never give Bush credit for being right.
Nope. That indeed occurred.
You mean they have to be moved AGAIN?
Where to this time, Egypt?
This whole episode has a “through the looking glass” feel.
couple your post with 500+ lbs of fissionable material that was found in Iraq (which the Canadians recently took custody of)and the case for war was more than made.
Was that when Saddam's Russian advisers were fleeing Iraq?
No worries, Hillary is on it....
No you lied, to yourself. Every right thinking American knows that the whole thing was cooked up by Cheney to increase Haliburton profits. No one, I repeat NO ONE in the mid east has any weapons of mass destruction. Anyone who says otherwise is a racist.
actually I remember it exactly as you do
Yeah, along with David Rockefeller.
Ooops, meant JAY Rockefeller:
Either way, Syria had gas weapons, I do believe, long before that.
They have always been a problem. Lotsa SCUDs and launchers.
I was posting links on it (elsewhere) back in 1997 and 1998.
And why is Hillary stone-walling in not helping the opposition?
If Syria falls and WMD becomes the story, it will follow that the origins of the WMD (from Iraq) will come out. Then the old mantra of "Bush lied" decimates the whole DNC platform on the Iraq War.
What are Obama/Hillary to do?
And Joe Wilson was telling the truth when he said Sadam never had interest in buying yellow cake in/from Nigeria.....Bush and British Intelligence lied about it.
Do you remember truck convoys scurrying out the back gate while UN inspectors were being stalled at the front entrance? There was a fast shuffle game of three-card Monte going on until we got troops to the Syrian/Iraqi border. After a short presence I remember them being called back for reasons unstated.
Thanks for the link down memory lane... I knew things were going to get BAD, but, it sure is strange to watch it all unfold.
The Iraqis themselves told us they spirited them out in ambulances and school buses.
It looks like Hitlery is wearing her Chairman Mao finest in that pic.
My guess is they will rely on their comrades in the LSM to never let the story see the light of day.
It is fun in a perverse way to watch them twist to cover all of their deceit though.
The only reason I say perverse is because the stakes are so high, other wise it would be just plain hilarious to watch them implode.
It us really looking more and more like all out war in the ME this year, probably by Summer.
Thank God we have a capable POTUS!
I suspect they are already doing conferencing-calls with the LSM heads to get their stories straight for when the Syria WMDs become a story.
No doubt the toppling of Assad will be postponed until they feel confident their strategy is fixed.
Heh, that was my first thought too....after I took my eyes off of her fugly mug!
That’s sure what the gas prices are trying to tell us... and the killing of an American journalist.

Second Message to Nizar Nayuf Dear Nizar. I have sent you another chart of the positions which tells where the weapons which were sent from Iraq into Syria, are hidden. Because the preceding chart that I sent you earlier is not clear. Until now, the authorities in Syria did not worry of what was being published by the Dutch television news about this subject. New information: The weapons were evacuated by the means of ambulances. Mohammed Mansoura also took part in the operation. There are other serious, detailed pieces of information concerning the money of Saddam being moved into Syria and into Lebanon and those who took part in moving it Syrians and Lebanese. Also there are more details about the assassination of the General Moustapha Tajer which took place last summer.
Take care of yourself.
Damascus, January 7, 2004.
Hellry keeps getting hit with an ugly stick on a regular basis.
As I read your post, I took out my checkbook to help pay, in some small way, for your therapy.
The last line caused me to smile, so I tore up the check. I’m glad it wasn’t needed.
I asked an ANTI-Busher about this, and in answer got nothing but an indignant dirty look.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
Thank for the info CB, good stuff!

You are exactly right and Iraqi general George Sada says the same thing. Sada was Hussein’s air force general during the first Gulf War.
I’ve read his book, “Sadam’s Secrets”, and heard him speak after a church service.
It is fascinating reading. He says Hussein trusted him because he was s Christian and wouldn’t BS him. Hussein’s kitchen staff was also Christian to protect him from subversives who would try to poison him.
The Syrian transfer is all here:
I wonder if we’re indeed at the time indicated in those passages?
The pieces are all in place so it sure looks and feels like it ;(
What will be real fun is watching the Anti-Booooshies try to explain why Syria had all of these Iraqi WMDs.
“RM: Do you have any other information, such as testimony or hard evidence that indicates Iraq possessed WMD?
DG: Congressmen Curt Weldon and Pete Hoekstra know about the sites but will not speak about it because I stopped them from conducting the WMD searches for their own goals. The CIA knows but has their own political agendas. The DIA agents are very good and know WMD are at the sites I identified. Other U.S. intelligence officers have told me that they also are aware, but once they talked with me they received calls from Congressman Weldons office to keep quiet. My proof is my past credibility and my intelligence reports that are at AFOSI HQ at Andrews AFB in Maryland.”
those countries know far more about the Iraq/Syrian WMD’s weaponry than Obama/Clinton. What the administration knows probably came from Israel and several ME countries.
The Antichrist must arise first and make a peace deal with Israel and the world. It will seem to work.
Husseins kitchen staff was also Christian to protect him from subversives who would try to poison him.
DG: Congressmen Curt Weldon and Pete Hoekstra know about the sites but will not speak about it because I stopped them from conducting the WMD searches for their own goals.
Bush is the one who said there were no WDM in Iraq. He is the one who enhanced and affirmed the Left’s “liar” chant.
We saw what was said to be convoys of trucks going into Syria from Iraq leading up to the war and we were urged to assume Iraq were moving WDM over there. Russian military was involved, if the reports were true.
I imagine Syria has it’s own supply of WMD and maybe added Iraq’s. We don’t know. Bush was a pitiful communicator. Which is why we should not listen to Jeb as he tells everyone to shut up.
Yeah, I remember.
I’ll never understand why he did that though.
..................Remember the first criticism of Bush was that he let Sadam move his weapons into Syria.................
Remember the night photo’s that Coleen Powell presented to the UN that showed convoys of trucks heading east into Syria.
The UN forgot, and he forgot, and then allowed Bush to hang tough all by himself, when no WMD’s were found in Iraq after six months of dicking around about Iraq before taking them out!
It was a dream we all had.
And I guess we’re going to have a sequel.
...prepare for the handling of President Bashar al-Assad's extensive WMD assets if and when his regime collapses...
