The Republican presidential aspirant was at it again on Friday, praising the greenery of his birth state in advance of next week's primary.
"This feels good, being back in Michigan, Romney said during a speech in Detroit. The trees are the right height. The streets are just right.
The latest bout of rhapsodizing almost perfectly echoes Romneys earlier comments about the size of the Great Lake states timber earlier this week.

Maybe so, but five articles in a row about him ain’t normal either.
Sounds like he’s gone round the bend Mitt needs to take a break hopefully MI will send him back to MA permanently
He’s a lumberjack and he’s OK.
Romneys Original Michigan Trees speech:
As a native Michigander I am a little nervous about him spending this much time talking about my lumber.
The thread from the first time he gave the speech (With video)
Should we now infer that Rotney and Algore have something in common?
So in other words, he’s SEVERELY happy to be back in Michigan.
I don’t care who you are... that’s funny.
He just loves trees.
They are the right height and all.
And there’s nothing in Michigan lakes that will eat you.
It’s safe to swim then?
LOL...Surely you can increase the fro size to match the BIG years..EPIC!
Romney must be sniffing to much of that Timber paint thinner..
ROTFLMAO!!! That is hysterical! Thanks for the Saturday laugh - I needed it!
He’s been chuggin the paint thinner.
Do you suppose that he looks more likeable in that setting and all ? he might actually get more votes if he get’s a hair weave today by Mr. Ray.
As far as I know, Treebeard hasn’t endorsed him yet.
Wow! Just as I was reading your post this Monty Python sketch was playing on TV!
IFC channel, Monty Python at the Hollywood Bowl, 1982.
It just ended. 3 Stooges on now. Snitchin' Time.
Now stop that, don’t you know that Mitt and his Trees have rights ?
Nice work! I remember Huckabee saying that in the 2008 primaries about Romney looking like the guy who fired you.
Do you photoshop? I think this particular topic about the trees calls for a nice Mitt Romney “Tree Hugging” photo.
It is so true how he inspires no one - except for that minority 30 some percent who can’t get past their infactuations.
You know if this guy were the nominee that we would be seeing the pics showing the Saboteur of 1600 with his full-stadium (rom back in 2008) versus Mitt’s Ford Field debacle.
He is their absoulte, unequivical, unMitigated DREAM candidate.
Oh My word! That’s awesome cripplcreek!
To bad, then again ? you can’t blame them for getting board by his speeches..
Actually, we are the one’s who are too shallow and ignorant to understand where he’s coming from.
Mitt’s not looking at this the way you or I would look at trees. In his mind he’s probably thinking how -HE- will creat them when he’s a god over his OWN planet.
Is anybody else growing tired of hearing the term “double down” with regard to politics?
” Mitt Romney is just plain nuts “ roots and chip monks.
I thought I saw that photo on another thread recently, but I didn’t take a GOOD look at it...OMG! Brilliant!
Now THAT is a funny coincidence.
Finish the sentence test:
The trees are . . . just right.
The roads are . . . just right.
The lakes are . . . just right.
The sunshine is . . . just right.
I want to be president because . . . just right.
I don’t get it. What’s wrong with mentioning the nice trees in Michigan? According to the article he’s mentioned Michigan trees twice this year, once in 2008 and once in 2011. BIG DEAL ALREADY! Sheesh....
He loves Trees but puts dogs on top of a car.. go figure..
Even the Cadillacs are right - both of them.
In his own way, Romney is as out of touch with the average American as Obama.
By the way, Mittens wants to raise the age to receive Medicare above 65. Even if we HAVE to do that, which I doubt, NOW is the WRONG time to say that. He’s such an idiot.
What type of stories do you focus on when your candidate is doing well? The guy grew up there - those are the trees of his childhood. Is it an odd way to phrase it? Yes. But having FR filled with stories about Mitt’s views on trees says more negative things about the intellectual interest of a subset of individuals on FR than it does about Mitt Romney.
Mitt sure has flaws as a candidate. If I opposed his as the nominee, I’d focus on those vs. focusing on trees, a 2nd Cadillac, or his underwear.
Photo of the decade!
Agreed - he’s nuts and the stress is strating to show the cracks. I consider it a John McCain moment, where the inner crazies peek out from the void...
He’s a lumberhack and there’s no way.
If a Michigan tree that’s just the right height falls in an empty Detroit football stadium, will anyone hear it?
