In any defensive situation such as this, you must do a quick evaluation of the individual and make the best of what you see and have available. She won this one.

Had the perp displayed serious aggressiveness or a firearm, she may have been better off passively handing him the drugs. These spray powered devices can misfire as in being complete duds at the worst time.

In the end it worked out for her but no guarantees in the future. I fully trust a chamber loaded firearm to fire more than a spray can to deliver.

It was always within reach on our hikes in Yellowstone and Tetons last July. Here's my daughter with her can at the ready!

I have been hit by that stuff albeit accidentally. It gets your attention :~) I ran across an older can of that spray in my truck when I was up at Lake Tahoe. I had forgotten about the can and wondered if it still worked. I shook the can and made sure I was firing down wind. The spray went out but the wind shifted and blew some of it back at me. I had just enough time to close my eyes, hold my breath and turn as I shielded my face. The spray passed over me with not too much problem but for the next 45-90 minutes it was like I had a nice hot sunburn on my hand and the side of my face that was hit. I guess it worked LOL

I just noticed there was in big type “NOT FOR USE ON HUMANS” on the can. Just watch as she gets a nasty-gram from the EPA/DEA regarding possible federal violations for the improper use of a dangerous substance. /s

Washington is "Shall Issue" CCW. She probably would have been in a better legal situation if she had shot him dead.
