I saw one of the activists name on the list of alternates to the district convention. I did a search of her name, and she was a Ron Paul delegate in 2008, so I assume she hasn’t changed her colors. I assume all her friends are fellow travelers because rest of us were becoming quite annoyed with them, and we were quickly able to pass an amendment to require a photo id, which their group voted against.

If she gets into the district convention, she may make it to the state convention, along with her buddies.

Sounds like you’re getting 15 minutes of fame on the Ron Paul forums for the whole ID request. One of the Paulbot ladies at your convention on Saturday wrote a big post about it there. Not sure if she’s the same one you’re describing, but somewhere on the forum it says she’s 31 years old.

I was going to post it last night, but FR was down. I saved the link, but now see she must have received a cease-and-desist from the Ron Paul authorities and deleted her post. It is still viewable in the Google cache for the time being though. Below is the link to the post she deleted, a link to the Google cache where her post is still there, a link to her profile on the Ron Paul forums, and the full post pasted below followed by all of her replies:

My experience at the county convention

Submitted by Gmrkmaster on Mon, 02/27/2012 - 10:12

We had our convention this past Saturday. It was my first time and quite an eye opening experience. First off...me and my small group of comrades where fortunate to have had a couple insiders. They were both on the resolutions committee. We all met up the night before where we were informed that there was a nominations committee whom already had a ballot with their “suggested” delegates on it. So we knew we had to push for a fair vote. We were also informed a bit about some turmoil within the party involving the same cronies stacking decks. These same folks time after timehold the party hostage and use dirty tactics to remain in power.

There was a lot of drama and bullying. It was clear to see what the motives where with the stacking of the cards and pushing for rules that were extremely unfair. It became an outright war between us and them...good vs evil. We were only few...young, new, and boisterous....and we were heard! At one point, a man cried out that “we have been infiltrated” by democrats and called out that there were imposters in the crowd and that everyone needed to be ID’ed. What of the people who did not bring an ID? This was not a fair rule as nobody was notified beforehand to bring an ID to the convention. Besides...my ID does not show which party I am affiliated with. This is preposterous!

But there was a small glimps of hope. Remember the turmoil I mentioned? Well, we successfully ousted the old regime with a completely new one. After nominating one of the “insiders” from my meeting I mentioned earlier as the Temporary Chairman, we won and he appointed all new people for the Temporary Committee. If it were not for this bold move, we would not have been successful in ousting the preprinted ballot.

Although my group only walked away as alternates...we succeeded in shaking things up and considering what we were up against, I do not feel defeated. My county is one of the toughest counties in Minnesota and the old cronies of the party failed miserably in their plan to stack the cards and take full control of the party that day.

Since then, I have received several emails thanking me for my courage. The fight is not over yet...I will push on.

***UPDATE***

Just got this email. Please read as it is important to the story. I replaced names with X’s.

It was good to meet you yesterday. I am surprised to find that you live in the Illuminati country. Sometimes we call it Injun county and for a good reason.

It was grand to see You and your younger Republican associates at the Convention Yesterday. I know all of you were concerned about some of the procedural items and that is just fine. Some of us older fogies need to have our feet held to the fire once in a while. However, know that you were witness to one of the finest examples of a Convention Temporary Chair you could have seen in this county. XXXX is just one of special guys you can always count on for fairness.

I know you and you friends did not really know what was really transpiring behind the doors of this convention either. As you and your chums were sometimes making some points on the floor, behind the scenes where you may not have understood completely the whole story, a very different procedure battle was being waged. That is where the real battle was being waged. Just in case you are not aware, there is a very serious war going on within the county party.

And as usual, the war is for power.

And for younger Republicans, it is a good thing if you want to learn and grow politically. Because, the power should rest with the delegates, always. It is after all, their Party.

As you are aware of Redistricting and how it can affect things, know that in the past, Senate District of XXX County was often split in two or even three parts. And XXX featured a pair of political Alfa dogs that pretty much held sway and power. They kept power through unscrupulous means with Character Assassinations of Republican volunteers and leadership committee members. The old “you do as I say or we will destroy you and your reputation. As you can guess, Leadership Committee Members back then were assured of being elected as they were “pre-approved’ by the power broking faction of that day. They were corrupt and devious, and very ruthless. They had control of the Republican Party in XXX and many other areas using dodgy means and devious ways. This is not anything new and it has been going on in all political parties from the beginning of our country. The Andy Jackson era was one of the worst of its kind in this regard. Dirty politics has always been with us

The local power brokers were finally pushed out by another younger faction who came of age under them, learned politics at the grass roots level as nasty, but a necessary business. These younger people finally used the same tactics and strategies to eliminate their era’s “bad faction”. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. That faction is the control group you see today in our county. You know them, -—the ones who hooted “imposters and infiltrators” at you during the convention. The ones who stood along the wall, watching the crowd of delegates and us.

Unfortunately, they were no different than the ones they learned from. It was just power vs. power for the sake of power. No ideals, no change, no uplifting. Just in you face brow beating and character assassination, and even some serious intimidation through using rumor and falsehoods to claim or hold onto power.

Want some realism? I was threatened with political death five times last week if I spoke at this convention, or if I led a floor fight against a certain faction. It was also said to me that my community standing would be endangered and my family’s local standing would be ‘dealt with’. I would lose many friends. In addition, a ‘voice tape’ of one of my friends would be produced to destroy his character, if things: “get too dicey”.

Now that’s politics!

My family, upon hearing such news said: “Bring it on, Pop”.

Are you sure you want into this game?

At the Convention, we were using our influence both on the floor and backstage to ‘prevent’ our District and State Delegations from being ‘fully disenfranchised and not Seated’ from those important Conventions. Does that sound serious enough to you?

If you had bothered to notice, behind you against the wall was a man from the State RPM, with a motion camera, recording the entire convention for evidence of rules violations and delegate election fraud. Would you not call that, dicey?

And every hour on the hour, I was being texted by the District Chairman on the status of this control group and our convention. Many eyes were upon us yesterday, crossing their fingers.

And what of you, XXXX? The role you were playing was also being taped. And it served a huge purpose too. You and your younger delegate friends unwittingly stumbled right smack into our battle. Within our two way pincers movement, your prodding questions created a third front. It further advanced the unsettling of the ‘control group’ and sent them into deep confusion and defeat. They were totally unprepared against the combinations. Their plans to ‘fix or stack’ the delegate list with their own predetermined cronies failed miserably. The delegates took control from them and won the day. You did not know, but you were a part of that. That’s why you guys were called, ‘infiltrators and impostors’ by some of them. This group does not like to lose and they lashed out against you.

You may have come away thinking that you had not accomplished much. You did.

Congratulations. Wear it as a mantle with pride.

You showed grit and stood your ground. Don’t see much of that in younger folks today.

Good job.

Best Regards

Google Libtards as Delegets at the Convention. They are saying we were democrats acting as Republicans and urging other conventions to ID everyone. LOL! Because we prodded for a fairness so they couldn’t stack the deck! Besides...my ID doesn’t show who I’m affiliated with. Really??? If this is how the party treats its youthful voters...they are doomed. I have never felt so unwelcomed in my life. There are real problems in this party. God help us all!

We got some...

That is all I can say.

Except in Tampa, where all the Ron Paul delegates will unite as one. It will be a great day.

It was rather gratifying!

All of us in my group are alternates. But I am aware that a lot of the people that over turned the regime are Paul supporters. Cannot confirm numbers though.

I know...it was quite comical! However...his motion passed and then we had to deal with the ID issue and how it was unfair to some because we were not put on notice that we would need an ID. Wish I could get my hands on the video. There would be some good examples for others to follow. Not to mention...the sound bites!

We could have added too but knowing most people would just check the names listed. So we pushed for everyone to be on the ballot.

From my group...we are all alternates. My understanding is that people don’t show to the next convention.
The big battle was the delegates supporting our congressional candidates. The delegates who overturned the cronies were all elected. They support Lee Byberg who has a platform similar to Ron Paul. I understand a lot of them do support Ron Paul. I know of a couple for sure. I plan on getting to know these people to find out more.

Also, Otter Tail is a large county but we are all rural towns. We elected 32 delegates.

I live 9 miles from Perham.

Whats amazing is that neither of the 2 sides were expecting a 3rd front! And we weren’t expecting to waltz in the middle of their battle field. We just charged in their with a clear mission and that was to push for a fair vote.
It was also neat to watch things unfold when they changed regimes. I could see the cronies across the room as they were dismantled one by one. It was a great thing to witness.
I had a sense of what was going on. I was greeted by random people throughout the day whom I could guess were on the “good” side of the party. I have since been invited to meetings and other events. I’m not sure how involved I want to be as I own a small business in town and worry about being targeted. But I was told that they protect their “kind” from the likes of the cronies and the cronies are becoming more and more out numbered.

Yes..and the more I get involved in this election the more I feel like my job does not end here. I have even considered seekeing an elected position...

Please read my update. It is an email I got. Brings tears to my eyes.

I’m sorry

I misunderstood you and did not answer your question at all! It was a meeting I put together in my county for all of our Ron Paul Delegates. It was a good meeting! The head Chairman of the Minnesota Ron Paul Campaign drove 3 1/2 hours to be there to help us. Unfortunately, there was only a handful of us in the area. The rural areas of Minnesota needs a lot of help! I sent you a pm with our county name.

Yes, our county convention was early. I’d rather not state on public forum but I will pm you.
