Finally, a 21st century movie that doesnt portray our military as corrupt, stupid, confused torturers who murder innocent babies.
Act of Valor, which opened this weekend, features active (and anonymous) Navy SEALs in the re-creation of real events that showcase our crème de la crème rescuing our operatives and crushing our enemies in an OMG type of way.
Ive got two words for the manner in which our boys were depicted in this flick Sa-lute!
If I were a wannabe enemy of the U.S.A. (foreign or domestic) Id be crapping my cargo pants (or tunic) after viewing Act of Valorchiefly because our special forces are some bad mamajambas who have the tools and the tenacity to jack you up.
Yep, be afraid, villains, as our troops are effective ministers of God poised, ready and willing with stealth and style to inflict the wrath of God on those who do evil. Im talkin Romans 13:1-5 style. Look it up if you dont know what Im talking about.
Another thing that I truly enjoyed about this film was the unambiguous patriotism of the soldiers and their families. Yep, no whining about their missions from their families or the SEALs who sacrificed their lives and limbs for God and country. It almost felt like I was in America again as I watched this movie. It was weirdbut a good weird.
Even though its shocking to see our troops displayed in a magnificent manner within this Occuculture that loathes them, it was not a shocker to me; I have had the good fortune to spend time with many of our special ops and other soldiers in hunting camps from Alaska to Texas and have found them just as the movie displayed them: consummate class acts without a hint of the BS Hollyweird has smeared them with over the last decade.
I cant say enough good things about this movie. In the theater in which my wife and I watched it we spotted several older gents and couples who sat in their seats and silently wept as the credits rolled. It was sacred.
Im sure all the scabs and the venomous wood lice of the Left are going to crawl out from under the rocks where they dwell and bash this war pic, but thats alright. Our SEALs and others have afforded you the right to be stupid and bray your insanity by keeping bad guys at bay, both at home and abroad, and thereby giving you the wherewithal to play your silly and ungrateful games against our fair land.
Lastly, parents, take your teenagers to see Act of Valor. Maybe, just maybe, some of the courage, patriotism and dignity depicted in this film will erase the film this crappy culture has slimed your kid with.
God bless America, our warriors who protect her, and those involved with this movie. Amen.
I've seen it twice. Each time at the end of the movie the audience was silent and respectful.
I will probably see it a couple more times before its run ends.
28% on the Tomatometer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. The biggest complaint I read about the movie was that the SEALs are portrayed as people without personality flaws (”so we never really get to know who they are”). I don’t know if that’s a fair critique or not. I’ll be going to see the film on Wednesday.
Does anyone think the anti-American scum bags in Hollywood will learn anything from this?
Or do you think they will continue to churn out dishonest garbage like Redacted?
I’ll say it again, the media in this country is our number one biggest enemy. That includes Hollywood!
I’ve seen it twice. Each time at the end of the movie the audience was silent and respectful.
Same here, it was very quite as the crowd filed out and it was a packed house.
I made the horrid mistake of watching the IFS Awards last evening (Spirit Awards...for independent films; their own little Oscar show). It was hosted by that idiot, Seth Rogan.
I say I watched it, but in truth, I could only stomach a little bit of it and turned it off before they had even so much as awarded a single Spirit Award.
Why? Seems Rogan just had to drop the F-bomb in virtually every other sentence. Totally gratuitously, I must add. Of course the audience of glitterati howled their approval every time.
The sickness of Hollywood is on full display. That culture, that town needs a serious housecleaning. It was disgusting, and believe me....I’m no prude or innocent.

It almost felt like I was in America again ...
This phrase reminded me of an old, but immensely timely, song by Carman ... America Again
Hollywood is going the way of the music industry: The graveyard of no longer useful entities. As tech increases more and more independent moviemakers will be kicking their ass simply because they will be making better movies as they will not have some Marxist cocaine addict dictating what they can and cannot make. Movies, music will alll be sold by word of mouth, if it is good and the leftists and their agendas will be hung out to dry.
Hollywood's asinine squalor, of course, is part of the asinine squalor that is American decadence--also known in Orwellian newspeak as "liberalism" (there's nothing liberal about it).
Ignore leftard critics. Box office numbers are running ahead of projections...weekend totals should prove interesting.
I don’t mind if someone uses the F word occasionally, but if someone uses it continuously and constantly, I wonder about their mentality
“A wonderful movie depicting our troops in a good way”
Ditto that!! We went to see it yesterday to a packed house. It was great!
I’d like some feedback on blood, gore, for the squeamish.
I’d like to see it, but others are reluctant.
And trust me on this too, whatever contempt you had before for Hollywood and their smart assed anti-war prancing fancy boys, it will double after you see this movie.
This is the wrong movie to watch for people who are looking for personality flaws. They only need to watch the MSM to get their fill of personality flaws.
The anti-American crowd will never learn. But this is for sure, the respect people have for the SEALS after seeing the movie is more profound than anything the anti-America will ever get close to.
I thought it must be that way in other theaters too. Thanks for the confirmation.
That 28% is "the critics" rating. The "audience" rating is 85%, and is almost always a better indication of the quality of the flick, especially when it concerns politically or ideologically charged themes.
Although the critics are panning it, the people are loving it. Says a lot more about the critics than it does about the film.
It doesn’t pull any punches on the combat part of it. In terms of gore, there aren’t a lot of entrails or rivers of blood. I would tell the squeamish to take a chance and see the movie. There is a point to the movie and Americans need to understand it.
I wonder if this will be screened at the White House?
If you want to see it go see it. Let the others see a different movie. Problem solved
I’m with you
When you see the growth of filth and garbage in Hollywood you wonder if Sodom and Ghomorrah were the same way just before God decided to flush out the sewers.
Yeah right. /s>
Star Wars Episode I and Transformers 2 made $100s of millions...ignore box office numbers!
I’ve only seen the previews for AoV, but I wondered, would it not be disadvantageous to have Seal practices widely publicized?
wow, that was helpful.
Thanks
“In the theater in which my wife and I watched it we spotted several older gents and couples who sat in their seats and silently wept as the credits rolled. It was sacred.”
Sounds like he was in the same theater as we were! We watched this movie with 20 of our closest friends, a group which refers to itself as the “Old Goats” all parents of active duty Navy, Marine Corps and Army officers.
It was a sobering experience, and as the author states, “God bless America, our warriors who protect her, and those involved with this movie. Amen.”
“Ive only seen the previews for AoV, but I wondered, would it not be disadvantageous to have Seal practices widely publicized?”
At the movie last night, I sitting next to a couple whose son is a SEAL currently deployed to Afghanistan (we think). He told them that there is nothing in this movie about SEAL tactics that is not aleady in the public domain.
My brother just sent me a text:
“If God doesn’t destroy Hollywood Boulevard, he owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology. #fb — MatthewNadu (@MatthewNadu)”
Over $9 million on Friday....Saturday numbers are not out yet. It’s an astounding first day but the proof will be in next week’s numbers.
Excellent replies all!
One reason why I click on FR several times a day!
On a side note, the SEALs are now in the cross hairs of the Diversity Police. There are not enough blacks in their ranks for them to pass muster.
Being the best of the best is evidently “racist” to the “liberal” crowd if blacks are not proportionately represented in the same percentages as in the general population.
Just another front of cultural Marxism in the war to destroy this great nation.
And really, how likely is it that a recruit with personality flaws is going to make it into the program, let alone make it through BUD/S?
I certainly don't. They are so suffused and saturated with squalor and decadence that they are unable to see anything else. People so afflicted are incapable of doing anything but churning our garbage.
"Ill say it again, the media in this country is our number one biggest enemy. That includes Hollywood!"
And you are absolutly right. It is a powerful propaganda machine that spreads squalor and decadence and, most basic of all, contempt for truth.
The people who do this are blinded by their own decadence and their own contempt for truth. They cannot see anything else. And they thus cannot understand and do not care how dangerously they are misleading enormous numbers of people.
Go see the movie and pay very careful attention to "Senior's" speech about each man in the unit needing to have their life in order (he calls it "balance"), living full lives without regret, so that the team would be in harmony for the mission.
Then try telling me about the biggest complaint being the SEALS don't have personality flaw's. These are MEN, living their lives to the FULLEST with their families and their team, knowing their next mission may be their last.
If only the rest of us had the COURAGE to live our lives that way!
Thanks—so I should well have presumed.
My theater was sold out. And that was at 4 in the afternoon.
Hollywood is too smug in what it things is "right" and too morally corrupt to know the difference between right and wrong.
Here's another article which illustrates this same real life 'non-diversity' in a non-military setting. And it clearly isn't racism at work.
If the American people do not come to their senses--and fast!--and reverse the decadence that is destroying America they're going to suffer recrudescences of far worse things than bedbugs!
And they will have only themselves--and their monumental stupidity--to blame.
Experienced the same thing, although it was difficult to tell who else had tears in their eyes through my own blurry ones.
As the list of those SEALS lost since 9-11-01 scrolled up the screen, not a single person moved. Could hear the sniffling pretty well....
I got home last night from the movie, printed it, and hung it on my refrigerator in my kitchen. Life changing.
I am delighted at the film’s performance. I hope it goes on to earn over $50 million in BO. As I said, the second week will tell the story.
And appropriately so. It’s no coincidence that posters on DU and Daily Kommunists are incapable of making comments without use of the F-word.

Right on the money, usconservative!
Every Seth Rogan film is the same way. He uses curses so liberally, it’s a complete turn-off. Can’t watch anything with him in it anymore.
However.
Is it true the main terrorist in the movie is a Jew?
Sure, that shows a real world threat.... not
