White House Press secretary Jay Carney today reminded reporters that prior to President Obama's term in office, the Bush administration was responsible for the tumultuous lengthy engagement in Afghanistan.
"The president made clear when he was a candidate for this office and when he took this office, that unfortunately prior to his taking office, because of the focus on Iraq, and the U.S. efforts there, that the original war, if you will, in Afghanistan had been neglected, the strategy there was unclear, and that it was not properly resourced," said Carney, adding that the U.S. goals in Afghanistan would be met with President Obama's "clear eyed" policy.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
It Never Ends.. I just laugh now.
Unfortunately, the fools will believe these fools.
Reaction to just the headline?
Don’t think this will spin all that well for you B.O.
“Carney” as in Carnival barker. The Frontman for a scam.
Oh good grief, will it ever end??!! I’m so sick of this bunch of idiots in the WH I could scream....which I pretty much did while driving back from Houston yesterday and had to fill up several times.....that is P-A-I-N-F-U-L!!!! But of course, high gas prices are Bush-Cheney’s fault!!!!
Reaction to just the headline?
Don’t think this “reason” is gonna spin all that well for you B.O.
Bart Simspson defense: “I didn’t to it, I wasn’t there, you can’t prove anything”
Last night as I was watching CNN they made sure to mention that Bush apologized twice over a Koran incident....
Now the White House is saying it is Bush’s fault...PLAEEEZE!
It amazes me on a daily basis how messed up these people are.
I try to remember they are the minority view in this fine great country they are trying to destroy daily.
Obama blames . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Add in whatever you want.
Either GW is working toward some kind of Sainthood or he’s going to show up at the White Hut with a 50 gallon drum of Whoop A$$. I’m hoping for the latter.
Shuck-and-jive sack of crap....
And yet almost twice as many American soldiers have died in Aghanistan since Obama took office than during Bush’s two previous terms. Go figure.
There is no need to get nasty here. Besides, what did a barker ever do to you to deserve such a vile comparison
If he wouldn’t defend himself against our domestic enemies while he was IN OFFICE....
Obama...yep, starting with your childhood - it's her fault you didn't have a daddy around. It's her fault that you are bi-racial and had an identity crisis. It's her fault that you never really knew or loved America. It's her fault that you had to live with your grandparents who were ashamed of what she did by conceiving a bi-racial child who ended up living with them. It's her fault that you never had really close friends or girlfriends. It's her fault that you started taking drugs. It's her fault that you never held a real job. It's her fault that you have such a poor work ethic. It's her fault that you have such a chip on your shoulder. It's her fault you have such poor leadership skills. It's her fault you can't give a speech without a Teleprompter. It's her fault you don't know there are not 57 states. It's her fault that you are, as you admitted, lazy. It's her fault that you can't do anything about our gasoline prices, as you admitted last week. It's her fault that more than half of America despises you.
Yep, everything wrong with you and wrong in your life is your Mother's fault. So why not just blame her like you blame everyone else for all your failures? You are not to blame for anything.
What a liar! I distinctly remember Obama campaigning in 2008 on the premise that Bush had gotten us into the wrong war in Iraq, and saying that he would go after the threat at the source in Afghanistan.
And most Americans will believe this shit.
The Taliban is racist too because they disagree with Obama.
Mr. Obama and his 'team' have had plenty of time to revise the nation's approach to the war in Afghanistan to 'fix' the 'mistakes' made by George W. Bush, and to reap the benefits of and/or suffer the negative consequences of these revisions.
It is absolutely disgraceful, but most definitely NOT unexpected, that he and his minions continue to blame his predecessor for the failures of his own administration.
“I try to remember they are the minority view in this fine great country they are trying to destroy daily.”
You are sooooo correct, and I find it amazing the minority Leftist, commonsense impaired idiots in this country are factually indisputably in control.
NO DEM, LIB, SOCIALIST should ever be allowed near the halls of government. They muck up everything.
He’s gonna really hurt himself with this one because it was one of the only real policy statements he made and if you only have one policy, even I can remember he said it! LOL
If God forbid BHO gets elected to a 2nd term, he will still be blaming Bush in his 8th year as POTUS. Ugh, I just made myself nauseous... “8th year”. No way will this country survive.
Reporter: “President Obama, you are now in your 8th year as POTUS and unemployment is now at 44%. Why is that?”
Obama: “Bushs fault”
They're not running from that fact. Instead, they're referring to it as though that campaign promise were made about two weeks ago.
The article even brings up the B.S. rhetoric of '08 - Obama's "clear-eyed" policy replacing Bush's big pile of mistakes. Clear-eyed? Sounds comatose or dead, doesn't it?
Not only is Obama’s excuse pathetic, it’s also so long-winded and convoluted it gives the impression that Obama’s entire communications staff worked on it for the whole weekend.
If he wants to be taken more seriously, next time the Afghanistan war comes up Mr. Carney should just say that Obama’s dog ate his Afghanistan briefing papers.
F U B O
Sorry O, this is your screw up.
I’ll bet it was delivered with a straight face, too..
You are not alone, I would guess that any Freeper over 15 remembers exactly that. I certainly do!
I once saw an Obama blame-game flow chart. No matter the screw up, they all lead to “Bush’s fault.”
