Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) wants Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to press Saudi Arabia, OPEC’s dominant oil producer, to boost output as rising prices are hitting consumers at the gasoline pump.

A letter to Clinton on Sunday from Schumer, a top political strategist for Senate Democrats, comes as Democrats are trying to blunt constant GOP attacks over soaring gasoline prices.

“These skyrocketing fuel prices are directly linked to the global energy market, particularly Iran’s recent efforts to manipulate oil prices and the worry of impacts on supply from an escalation of regional hostilities,” Schumer writes.

From the same people who oppose drilling in the US because of spills or what not and say it will not decrease prices, but somehow Saudi oil will not spill ever and will decease prices.

Everyone knows that burning saudi oil creates less CO2 than burning US oil.

Didn't Obama just assure America that its the international market that sets price and there's nothing he can do about it here at home?

If thats true, I wonder why are democrats screaming at the Saudis to increase supply?

Maybe Obama meant that only international oil can effect gas prices.

Apparently Saudi Arabia can drill our way out of high prices. What hypocrisy.

Pray for America

Drill, Abdullah baby, drill!

Why does Chuck Schumer assume that the potentates of Saudi Arabia are more honorable gentlemen than the New York bankers he’s been dealing with for years, whose mode of operation is to demand big favors from Chuck and the Democrats in exchange for their campaign donations?

In our Obama-weakened state, America has nothing the Saudis want, so why suppose they would do our bidding just because Chuck Schumer wants them to? In pre-Obama days, the Saudis depended on us to maintain stability in their bad Middle East neighborhood, but now they can’t even trust the weak, bowing and scraping and apologizing Obama to keep the area’s vital oil-shipping lanes open. The Sunni Saudis’ main protection against their Shiite soon-to-be nuclear enemy Iran is now Israel.

With friends like America, the Saudis don’t need enemies. But with enemies like Israel, they don’t need friends. Time for Chuck to go back to sticking Wall-Street-friendly provisions in the tax code so the Democrats might attract enough contributions to survive in November even with gasoline at $10 a gallon.

Right on all three counts. Thought it bore repeating.

Dummocrat follies. Everyone else go pump more oil but we can’t. Schumer, Blabbermouth-Schultz, Pelosi, Reid, the Annointed One of course, and the rest have to be embarrassed by how ridiculous they sound 90% of the time.
