Skip to comments.Rasmussen: 39% Favor Free Health Care for All Americans
Posted on 02/27/2012 5:13:55 PM PST by SeekAndFind
While the political debate continues over mandated free contraception for women, most voters now oppose the idea of free health care for all Americans. Opposition is even higher if voters are required to change their current insurance coverage to a government plan to make that free health care possible.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters believe health care should be made available free to all Americans. Fifty-one percent (51%) disagree and oppose universal free care. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on February 20-21, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
Are the Europeans gonna pay for it?
There’s no such thing as free anything, stupid a$s americans.
Health care insurance is a good idea.
That’s why we buy it.
The supply of any free thing is not.
That same 39 percent number keeps turning up. Obama's welfare army???
There’s your solid welfare/Democrat vote right there.
This poll is flawed. “free healthcare” really? It’s NOT free and never will be “free”, someone will pay for it. The money does not grow on trees. Whoever created this poll question is either economically challenged, or is deliberately trying to skew the poll.
The hell with just free health care...!!!
... from the 50% who pay no federal income tax
Studies show that 39% of Americans are complete idiots.
Quit your job, quit paying rent, quit worrying about feeding your family.
Big Daddy gobment...will provide all.
Yo no wat i b saying?
Wow! Imagine those doctors, nurses, hospitals, technicians, administrators, everyone else working in the medical field...all doing it for NOTHING! How humane, how...wut?
Oh, you mean somebody pays for it? Who?
Every American deserves free government -— it’s an idea whose time has come.
To take that to its logical conclusion, that will include medical/pharmaceutical research. So even though they have waiting lists for essential treatments/surgeries, European universal health care has benefited from US’s cutting edge research. When we go to it, bye bye innovation.
Thinking health care would be “free” is a ridiculous as Democrats thinking that corporations would be paying the higher taxes they want to heap on businesses. The consumer, of course, and the taxpayer, pays for free health care and corporate taxes.
Taken to a logical conclusion, everything is health care.
Very disappointing poll result.
I think Berkshire Hathaway should pay for it.
As an ex-canadian, I find it laughable when “Amerikans” who claim they want to move to Canada is the “free healthcare”.
I have to explain slowly to these morons that each province in canada charges a monthly premium that you HAVE TO PAY or else...
It is mandatory. You can’t pay? FU. The govt dings your credit report and goes into your bank account and garnishes it. That’s what Americans are facing with Obamacare..
And there you have it.
The American experiment is over.
Ha ha ha . . . hey Rasmussen, why not ask about free beer, or free gas. I bet the percentages would be a lot higher!
College wasn’t free. Medical school wasn’t free. The interest on my student loans wasn’t free. The holidays I didn’t get to spend with my child because I was on call weren’t ‘free days’. The sleepless nights and 90+ hour weeks were also not ‘free’. I’ll never recover those days of youth I invested. I was willing and happy to do it, because I thought I was doing something positive.
I am not, however, willing to be a patsy for people who think the world owes them what they want. If someone came to me with a sandwich and said that’s all they had to pay for my services, I would gladly do anything I could for them (and they could keep the sandwich). On the other hand, when people feel that they can just vote themselves the right to my life and my work, I have no desire to be giving to them. I would never give anyone substandard care, which is why I would just do something else for a living. The same motivation and work ethic that got me into medicine will help me to find another way to earn a living. I am not a slave.
So 39% are parasites.
I am surprised it’s as low as 39%.
When you consider the elite that is empowered by doling out other people’s money, and the useful idiots who pay no taxes and want the goodies, it really should be higher than 39%.
39% would vote for the donkey if the DNC ran it for president. This 39% are easily a combination of the super lib and loyal plantation poor.
In a related study:
-39% of Americans want laws that require cars to get 200 MPG on dishwater.
-39% of Americans want all electricity generated from...well, they don’t know where, but it should be free.
-39% of Americans are “progressives”
-39% of Americans are hopeless idiots.
ME - So, you think you should get something for free?
LIB - Yes, it's my right.
ME - Give me your wallet.
LIB - Huh?
ME - Give me your iPhone.
LIB - You're kidding, right?
ME - Give me your Volt. I already paid $7,500 to you for it.
Its rasmussey.Go figure.
..”most voters now oppose the idea of free health care for all Americans...”
That’s what this is all about, conditioning for the continued push for Arbeitsziehungslager consolidation and implementation by the chosen Massachusetts _Mitt.
Did they ask the important question, one that would not favor the preparation for Arbeitsziehungslager, “pay to play.” ?
Nothing is free.
Somebody has to pay.\\
People with jobs have to pay.
“And there you have it.
The American experiment is over.”
Not quite yet.
But when that “thirty-nine percent” reaches forty-nine-percent, it may indeed be time to start worryin’...
But your post was the best of the thread.
Yep, I’m still waiting for Moochbutt Obama to write me a check out her personal stashes.
What’s the hold up, Moochbutt? Share the wealth.
