{First of all..I am a strong Newt supporter and I do believe that teaching morals is up to the parents.}

You mean that crack addict single parent that sends her kids to school to learn how to have safe sex such as body licking and masturbation? That the parents you think should teach the morals? Society teaches the morals whether you like it or not, and I don’t like what they teach very much.

Public nudity in San Francisco, gay pride parades that are enough to make the devil blush, copulating like animals in heat. Yep you want the parent to teach the morals, but even if a parent were so inclined, the government schools would undermine you.

How uplifting for us to have a President like Bill Clinton to teach us the finer points of sex. Ask yourself if he or Ronald Reagan were the better role models. Clinton or Washington, Clinton or Linclon?

“That headline sounds exactly what the liberals and MSM would say, and what some Newt supporters are saying.
Looks like they are all working on the same team to help Mitt Romney.
Who would have though among some area’s of Conservatism that conservatives would actually attack Christians and other conservatives for their beliefs”...AC

Your exactly right any member of the media supporting the Obama Decree promoting morphing of the constitutional issue of Religious Freedom into a “womans right issue” are concealing their anti-God anti-Christian anti -Catholic bigotry...TIME TO PROTEST AND PICKET any promoter of those that support the Obama Decree..

Don’t bring Sotomayer up, it confuses the “Suddenly Santorum” crowd. They can’t quite square how a pro-abortionist judge could be endorsed by a devout catholic anti-abortion politician. (he took one for the team, the wrong team)

In case you haven't noticed, there are about 30% of us, and 70% of them.........

And politicians have to keep issues like this low key. Because the MSM will twist it way out of proportion. In other words, don't give them bullets to shoot you with.

This is just a start, and the Reverend Rick was warned to keep his mouth shut. He has done the very opposite and what happens from here on out will be the result.

The separation of church and State is there for a very good reason. This is what happens when one tries to force their specific religious doctrine down the throats of a Secular public. They will not stand for it in any form.

Santorum has become an even greater enemy of the Media than Richard Nixon, it seems.

The only thing informative in this garbage is that Cohen and many Newt supporters are fellow travelers. There are actually folks that think that religion should NOT be and is NOT permitted in the public square. The dumbing down of America has reached its tentacles right here on FR.

We have all of world history to warn us about what happens when religion takes too prominent a role. The public square gets used for beheadings and the like.
You mean like the fanatically anti-Christian French Revoluntion? The Fanatically anti-Christian Third Reich, perhaps. Or the fanatically antiChristian Stalin or Mao regimes?
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity...And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” - Washington’s Farewell Address

You really want to accuse Gingrich endorsing Jim Robinson and the anti-Romney crowd here of trying to help Mitt Romney?

Grow a pair, fight your own battles, leave Jim alone for a change.

The dumbing down of America has reached its tentacles right here on FR.

Jim Robinson, Founder of Free Republic, Endorses Newt Gingrich

Newt is a pro-life Reagan Revolution conservative who led the Republican Revolution of the 90’s, taking the majority away from the democrats who had held it for 40 years. And as Speaker, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the deficit, cut regulations, cut unemployment, brought the federal budget under control for four years running. And unlike Romney, actually blocked a socialist healthcare system from becoming law. And created a pro-growth, pro-free market, pro-jobs environment and extended the Reagan economy throughout the 90’s!! Newt is the ideal candidate to lead the Tea Party Revolution!!

There are laws against child abuse. If a crack addict is raising a child the courts are able to take over.
Yes, it is up to the parents and not to congress or the govt to teach children how to pray and who to pray to and it is not up to Rick Santorum.
Maybe he should consider televangalism

The only problem is that the government is based in society and that society’s ethical principals inform the government.

As we permit liberals to be the informers of government, we are opening the door to amorality which permits a huge field of unethical decisions and behaviors within government. Take eugentics... The rule of law is based on honor... It is wide and deep. Hitler and Stalin wide and deep.

You can not separate morals from government and from society. The void will be filled by the opposite. It IS BEING FILLED by the opposite - corruption, treason, theft, abuse and eugentics. It much deeper than arguing over the left social engineering life around homosexuality.

Just because someone is a Christian does not mean he is moral and ethical. Some are dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to Western ethical analysis.

Cohen is a Jewish bigot. They reside on the Left. But they despise Christians which is why they reside on the Left.

After deriding some parents as unfit because they don't teach or hold your morals... and then use that rational as reason for parents to not have the right to raise their own children without outside interference... you have the gall to claim the right to raise your own kids your own way, free from interference?

Hypocrisy, thy name is 'itsahoot'.

America has never been a homogeneous society, with one set of morals and mores. We have always been a hodgepodge of different groups, with differing social mores. And our founding fathers recognized that with no established church... and with states rights.

For back in that day, each state was settled by differing groups, and no one was willing to bow their head to some stranger's view on how they wanted you to live.

And we'd all be a lot better off, not just remembering that, but actually *PRACTICING* it!
