Posted on 02/27/2012 7:35:13 PM PST by red flanker
Newt Gingrich holds Campaign Rally at the Tennessee State Capital, Nashville, Tennessee where he was introduced by former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson.
Most people do not realize that Fred Thompson was elected Tennessee senator in 1994 along with a wave of other GOP reps. In his remarks, Fred gives a large part of the credit to Newt Gingrich for nationalizing the election and for following up with major legislative achievements.
It was also interesting to discover that Rick Santorum was also elected to the U.S. Senate in 1994 and served along with Fred Thompson for at least 16 years. So Fred had a chance to observe both men in Congress...And so he endorsed Newt.
BTW, Newt will be on O'Reilly tomorrow night to talk about his gas program.
Newt really needs to stay away from Fred national popular vote Thompson.
I love Fred Thompson! Saw him speak last month and he is good.
The last person Old Glue Horse endorsed didn’t do very well.
Can u say McCain? In fact, many people thought Thompson was McCain’s stalking horse.
With or without Thompson, Newt won’t carry Tennessee.
I really respect Thompson, and he had my vote last go around.
I really hope that the electorate isn’t so stupid this time around.
Newt has surrounded himself with some solid colleagues.
He’s also pimping the national popular vote which is a progressive plan and another Soros project.
The last guy Saint Rick endorsed didn’t do to well either.
Why is he running against him this time, given that politics is a team sport?
Whew...good to be back. Thanks Jim and John!
Please review the debate between Newt and Obama at YouTube. It is exceptional. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHWiw9Yn1zg
This is a preview of the debate between Mr. Newt and Mr. O if the American people research the facts and become truly informed. Not the hype, not the negative and untruthful ads, but the facts. Go to Newt.org and see the truth to all the negative ads by Romney and others. It is your responsibility as an American voter to be informed. DO NOT TRUST only what you hear, research the facts for yourself and then tell your neighbor, your friends, and your coworkers.
This is the only way WE THE PEOPLE can have the candidate of our choice not the choice of the republican establishment. After all, the republican establishment gave us Bob Dole, which gave us Clinton, then McCain, which gave us Obama. If the republican establishment has their way, we will get Romney, which will give us another 4 years of Obama. Choose wisely, this could be the most important vote of your lifetime and that of your children and grandchildren. NEWT GINGRICH 2012! EAGLES UP!
I’m a bit flummoxed.
Rick is on the tube now espousing Newts views on energy.
I saw that on a link from Newt on Facebook today. He nailed it! :)
I now have a loverly Newt sign in my front yard in SE TN..
On Saturday March 3 Herman Cain and one of Newt’s daughters will be in Chattanooga at Newt HQ in the morning and also at Lee University in Cleveland, TN at 1PM
Thanks for the PING...
Brokered convention R US..
Heard Krauthammer say that Newt has nowhere to go after the south...but also heard Rush say "don't count Newt out"
Now the Romney gang is on and that is tum's time. I am so disheartened even though I expected this...it is disgusting! of course they are thanking Trump, Brewer, Christie and etc. All I can say is GOD HELP AMERICA and hang tought Newt!
It is a tough night for Newt supporters! We have been forewarned, from Newt’s lips, that he must take Georgia, and perform well in these Super Tuesday states to be successful, after MONEY has kept him in the freezer. So, yes, I’m fearful.
The media is roughing Romney up and using our divisiveness to do it, to damage him in the general election, should he ever drag across the finish line.
Newt’s ads begin tomorrow for the South, and there are no more debates. God be with us.
Also read here if interested. Some great links provided on this thread.
Thank you so-o-o much, truth. I appreciate the link very much.
“I am so disheartened even though I expected this...it is disgusting”
The collective stupidity is staggering.
First: to allow “open” primaries, when elections are won on a few percentages, only means to allow the democrats dictate who their adversary in the national election will be.
Second: for the Republicans to vote for Obama-lite, who lost to McCain, who lost to Obama in 2008, and hope that he will prevail in 2012, is sheer stupidity.
When in November, they will see Obama grinning from ear to ear, while getting more four years to dismantle America, just remember:
“Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”.
WHAT A DISASTER in the making.
Newts ads begin tomorrow ...
Newt 2012 announced today that Newt Gingrichs 30 minute address, $2.50 per Gallon Gasoline, Energy Independence and Jobs, will air statewide on the Ohio News Network (ONN) leading up to Super Tuesday. ONN reaches 1.5 million homes in all 12 of Ohios media markets. The address will air at the following times:
Thursday, March 1 8:30pm
Friday, March 2 7:30pm
Saturday, March 3 8:00pm
Sunday, March 4 8:00pm
Monday, March 5 8:30pm
Rick would better drop out NOW and endorse Newt. He should have done that in Florida ...
It’s the last chance to stop the McCain II, I mean Romney.
>> I am so disheartened
Chin up. We fight on regardless of the outcome.
Essentially, tonight’s result is probably the best thing Newt could have hoped for. A win for Santorum would have made it really difficult for Newt to run against Santorum. Now he can criticize Santorum on electability, and also make the case that Romney’s attack machine is getting tiresome and voters are tired of not hearing a positive message from him.
Also, statistically in this primary, whenever Romney has a big win in a key state, he gets slaughtered in the next election. NH led to SC...FL led to Rick’s hat trick. The opposite of inevitability seems to happen to him. People get hit with buyer’s remorse whenever he wins, and his conservative opposition seems to work harder to defeat him next time.
Keep up the courage. The Southern countries can yet win the day

POPULAR VOTE TOTALS:
For all of those that say it is over... Talk to us after Super Tuesday.......
I’m here 12 hours late.
I watched movies all day and last night to spare myself from idiot speeches and pundit talk of doom and gloom.
I did however tune into cnn at the close of its live coverage just in time to see John King speculate that Newt could likely catch fire and come in second to Romney, provided he sweeps the our beloved South.
He needs free face time on TV, which of course, is rarely given to him in any meaningful manner, but keep the faith = he’s trying!
Lovely to see his policies and solutions lifted by his rivals. /s
Bring your peanut brittle!!!!
No, Marguerite, it’s not over yet. I know some of Newt’s supporters are getting a little discouraged, and very tired, but we just have to keep on, and then keep on some more. You do some extraordinary work for Newt on this forum alone. Extraordinary.
I have set a goal for my little crew of “babies” - get Newt to 20% across the boards, that clarifies and simplifies the objective, and you don’t have to be looking everywhere for signs of how he is doing... we just have one question, is he at 20% across the boards yet? That is our goal. We had a %15 across the boards goal when he was first starting out... and that worked well for us, and others, and saved a lot of wear and tear on our heart strings.
I know a lot of people who have been doing great things online for Newt, who have recently changed to grassroots and neighborhood efforts, face to face, because the people online seem to be so dug in, and unchangeable...
All these little dynamics are in flux and changing the nature of the scene as we see it today... Newt is going to be fine...
You are my hero.
I want to thank you for the kinship over yesterday’s MI, AZ
I can hardly tolerate the fact that MONEY alone isolated the giant from some of these contests, but because Newt walks the talk that he delivers in his words and wisdom, I expect interest to rise in him, since Santorum crossed over onto a rabbit trail of social issues and found himself in weeds to high to take Romney in Michigan.
There is nothing Santorum believes that Newt doesn’t believe concerning these personal, religious, and family issues, and the Church.
Newt just doesn’t belch and foam and give away how he would try to govern on these very issues. He will simply advance them when in power to do so. (Just like Obama did, does and will, only with Newt it will be a roll back of these assaults in so far as it is possible.)
Had Obama done more than dropped strategic hints to an enamoured electorate, if he had blabbed how far he would hollow out the nation economically, anti-semetically, morally, with corruption of the Justice Department to set up some and pay off others, all in order to advance Marxism, he would not have been elected.
Santorum has blabbed and shot himself in the foot.
It is not known how much Adelson donated to Newt. Before it actually arrived, murmerings were heard that it was but another $10 million. Now it seems, it is a secret and won’t be reported until the quarter ends.
I hope it was much more, with Newt going into Super Tuesday and the South, considering that in a single state, Romney doubles that to annihilate his opponents.
I snapped out of my evening funk last night when *gusty remarked on Newt’s demise north of the Meuse, following Super Tuesday.
I have plenty of fight through next week, gussie, and encourage myself everytime I hear Newt grace the microphone. He is phenominally intellegent, even brilliant, and an expert on trimming the schemes and hopes of Marxist Democrats, in now legendary wars. WHAT A RECORD!!
Love to all the Marines on FR, who bear one another up (me)and hang with the giant.
Newt Gingrich on Neal Boortz now! 12:30 am ET
It’s 12:30 pm ET
Newt would probably have been doing a lot better if it weren't for Rush's knee-jerk condemnation of his questions on Mitt's Bain experience! IMO, Rush's characterization of Newt's comment as "an attack on capitalism" was on the same level as those on the left who scream "Racist!!!" if someone, say, uses the word "niggardly" or says Obama is skinny, and just as indefensible as the Left's refusal to disavow the more outrageous antics of Greens or gays.
At the very least, he should have invited Newt on for a segment to explain/expand upon his question.
Just compare Newt's years as Speaker of the House (1995-1999) with Obama's disaster:
Newt Gingrich has a life long history of accomplishment. His leadership in Washington helped save Medicare from going bankrupt and brought new attention to prevention, wellness, and research. In 1995 Time magazine claimed, Leaders make things possible. Exceptional leaders make them inevitable. Newt Gingrich belongs in the category of the EXCEPTIONAL.
“Newt is the only one of the candidates who has the RIGHT stuff.”
And the right plan for America.
Arthur Laffer: “Mr. Gingrich has a significantly better plan than does Mr. Romney, and he has twice before been instrumental in implementing a successful tax plan on a national levelonce when he served in Congress as a Reagan supporter in the 1980s and again when he was President Clinton’s partner as speaker of the House of Representatives in the 1990s. During both of these periods the economy prospered incrediblyin good part because of Mr. Gingrich.
Jobs and wealth are created by those who are taxed, not by those who do the taxing. Government, by its very nature, doesn’t create resources but redistributes resources. To minimize the damages taxes cause the economy, the best way for government to raise revenue is a broad-based, low-rate flat tax that provides people and businesses with the fewest incentives to avoid or otherwise not report taxable income, and the least number of places where they can escape taxation. On these counts it doesn’t get any better than Mr. Gingrich’s optional 15% flat tax for individuals and his 12.5% flat tax for business. Each of these taxes has been tried and tested and found to be enormously successful.
Imagine what would happen to international capital flows if the U.S. went from the second highest business tax country in the world to one of the lowest. Low taxes along with all of America’s other great attributes would precipitate a flood of new investment in this country as well as a quick repatriation of American funds held abroad. We would create more jobs than you could shake a stick at. And those jobs would be productive jobs, not make-work jobs like so many of Mr. Obama’s stimulus jobs.”
This WSJ article could be called “Laffer has the Last Laugh.”
Another smart guy who knows a smart guy when he sees one. And isn’t intimidated.
NEWT makes America look good, because America IS good.
Back at you Rita:) we will all hang tough and by the time this election or charade is over...we will be heard. NO more will the true conservatives be sold down the river..the time has come for a 3rd strong party. The gop is leaving us all for their “watered down, safe don’t rock the boat good ole boys”
