Holder: 1st Amendment Allows Gov't to Force Catholics to Buy Sterilization- Contraception-Abortion
Cybercast News Service ^ | 2/29/12 | Fred Lucas

The Justice Department will defend against any legal challenge to the new Obama administration mandate to force employers to provide abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception, even if it goes against their conscience, Attorney General Eric Holder told a House subcommittee Tuesday. The Department of Health and Human Services rule, part of Obamacare, violates the freedom of conscience for Catholics and other religious groups that expressed their objections to the mandate, opponents say. Already there is litigation asserting that the rule violates the First Amendment’s guarantee to free exercise of religion.

“1984”

To conservatives - a dark, serious work of literature describing one possible bleak, depressing future for mankind.

To ‘progressives’ - an Instruction Manual.

“This bastard needs to be impeached! If we had a Congress that had a pair he would be..............”

Impeached he should be, but wondering if Congress is getting the message loudly and clearly from enough of the American people to know they have the direction, and the support from them to proceed to do exactly that?

Allegedly the Congress represents the will of the people.

Perhaps we all need to send the message en masse to Congress to git ‘er done.

>Other denominations are also furious about this.<

.
Let’s see if that is the case this November — they can prove it with their vote.

You can be assured that the black churches will continue to vote for Bambi in excess of 90% in spite of feeling “offended”.

They all took an oath. If they need to wet their finger to feel the wind, they broke their oath already.

He can’t be impeached. He’s black.

Need I say more?

Interesting how libs can find hidden or implicit "rights" in the Bill of rights. A guy can take a piss on stage and it is considered "freedom of expression" under the 1st amendment. They found a "right to privacy" so as to force abortion on us. But when the Bill of rights explicitly says "freedom of religion" or "right to bear arms"; they don't see it.

Insane. I’d rather have Geoffrey Holder as the attorney general. Imagine him laughing his big, booming laugh every time Congress asks him a question. It would definitely be more fun.

When religions have to beg the gov't for a waiver, we are already under socialism.)

Yes sir. When you hear of that women in Texas who wanted to board a plane but no female TSA was there to search her (even thought they knew her because she flew often from there) & she was begging for even a male TO SEARCH HER - to deprive her of her constitutional rights, you now know that we have lost this nation.

Think it really doesn’t matter what Holder said. They’re forcing religious institutions to do something that is counter to their religion.

Is what Obama doing any different than legislating:

1. That Muslim relgious organizations must give their employees Hannukah as a paid vacation day?

2. That Jewish religious organizations must subsidize Quaran study classes for their employees?

3. That Catholic religious organizations must provide abortions as a part of their employee healthcare plans.

This marxist regime must be stopped. It’s a damn shame that impeachment has thus far escaped Obama, Holder, and others so far.

Let’s see if I have this straight: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

Really means that we can prohibit the free exercise of religion so long as it is mandated by the government.

While: “ the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Really means that we can infringe on the people’s rght to bear arms, so long as the US government caused gun violence in another soveriegn nation.

The liberal mind is truly a wonderous thing.

The wording of the Constitution is a non-sequitur to leftists.

Anything written in the past inherently has less value than the ad-hoc decision making ability of the smart people alive today.

It’s in contract law that this mess is going to be overturned.

The government mandate of a PRIVATE SECTOR TRANSACTION subjects the issue to contract law.

A contract has a presumption of mutual consent. If one party can claim coercion, then the contract is null and void.

I wonder which nations’ Constitution Mr. Holder is reading?
I wonder if he is getting help with his interpretation from Justice Ginsberg?

I'd love to see that. That's where we are. That's what the Second Amendment is for. It should have been the first, as it is the most important.
