All across the nation, there are mainstream Republicans lamenting how the party has grown more and more insular, more and more rigid. This year, they have an excellent chance to defeat President Obama, yet the wingers have trashed the party’s reputation by swinging from one embarrassing and unelectable option to the next: Bachmann, Trump, Cain, Perry, Gingrich, Santorum.
But where have these party leaders been over the past five years, when all the forces that distort the G.O.P. were metastasizing? Where were they during the rise of Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck? Where were they when Arizona passed its beyond-the-fringe immigration law? Where were they in the summer of 2011 when the House Republicans rejected even the possibility of budget compromise? They were lying low, hoping the unpleasantness would pass.
The wingers call their Republican opponents RINOs, or Republican In Name Only. But that’s an insult to the rhino, which is a tough, noble beast. If RINOs were like rhinos, they’d stand up to those who seek to destroy them. Actually, what the country needs is some real Rhino Republicans. But the professional Republicans never do that. They’re not rhinos. They’re Opossum Republicans. They tremble for a few seconds then slip into an involuntary coma every time they’re challenged aggressively from the right.

I can accept compromises. If we want to eliminate ten government programs a reasonable compromise would be to eliminate four of them and cut the funding for the remaining six by 20%. But the RINOs' compromise on eliminating 10 programs always seems to be to boost the spending by only 25% and then adding three new programs. That's not compromising - that's surrendering with some conditions.

I challenge you to go & live for ONE FULL YEAR on the border with Arizona, or any place that Sheriff Arpaio or Gov Jan Brewer can arrange for you.
You need to see first hand, with your own eyes, apparently, how bad the illegal immigration situation is on our Arizona border.

We also finally need a Conservative Party. It is time. We need one before the 2014 Midterms to gather strength to defeat the Rats in 2014..soundly. We will have a lot of work to do to clear up the mess.

I actually agree with this statement. He just should have stopped after the words challenged aggressively, or he should have included, They slip into an involuntary coma every time they are challenged aggressively from ANYONE, right or left.
The only single solitary thing on the mind of a RINO is his big fat taxpayer funded paycheck and pension. That is all. And if sleeping with the loony left and communists will make him more money, he will do it cheerfully.
All of Congress is a den of thieves. Left/Right definitions are nonsense and just a ruse. They are all out to loot the United States for all it has and get what they can get before everything collapses.
If Romney wins, if Gingrich, Santorum, Perry wins, it will make not one bit of difference. Illegals will still flood in. We will still borrow billions from China to give to crackpot countries all over the world. We will never produce our own oil even though we have more than the Arabs. Pot will still be illegal fueling the drug wars and kingpins. Abortion will still be legal.
And most important of all, government will still continue to grow and grow and grow and take more and more and more of our money and freedoms. Nothing will change without force no matter what happens or whom is elected.
The politicians on both sides have multimillion dollar interests in salaries, pensions, legalized bribes, and insider trading investments and they do not give a sh#t about the rest of us.
The only good thing about the Kenyan man-child is that he is to stupid and gauche to be tactful about anything he does. It is right out in the open. “I am going to ‘take over’ (fundamentally change) this country.” and he will. And all the corporate types and mealy mouthed RINOs and idiot lefties, who 'love' Obama BTW, will lose much more than I personally have ever had to lose.

You are right on. I could not say it any better nor believe it any different. Nothing changes when the government is totally 100% corrupted. Only a total revolution & new start is the option. Unfortunately it will be a drip drip to the loss of all liberties.
