With his presidential candidacy newly invigorated by donations from a casino billionaire, Newt Gingrich accused Mitt Romney's Wall Street supporters on Wednesday of trying to "brainwash" voters into backing the former Massachusetts governor.
"It's just Wall Street pouring money in to try to buy the election," Gingrich told a few hundred supporters Wednesday evening at a rally here in northern Georgia.
"In fact, I think eight of his top 10 sources are people who got money out of the U.S. taxpayer. So in a sense, the next time you see a negative ad, you're watching your money come back to brainwash you on behalf of the people that took your money in order to stay rich."nomination....
Gingrich's use of the word "brainwash" carries special resonance for Romney. In 1967, his father, George Romney damaged his campaign for president by saying that on a visit to Vietnam, he had undergone a "brainwashing" by U.S. officials about the war there.
Responding to Gingrich's remarks, Mitt Romney's spokesman Ryan Williams said, "When typical Washington politicians like Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich get desperate, they resort to false and dishonest attacks like these."
Gingrich went after Santorum, too, at the Gainesville rally.
"We have two fine candidates who aren't visionaries," he said of both Romney and Santorum. "One of them runs around saying he's a manager. And the other goes around saying he's essentially a very fine traditional big-government union conservative, who voted against right-to-work, and voted for every single minimum-wage increase the unions wanted. But neither of them offers bold changes."
Santorum's campaign had no immediate comment.

We need a candidate with fire in the belly. We need a candidate who inspires people and is a true leader.
We do not need another President who reads a teleprompter in a pompous
arrogant tone, in front of a bunch of hand picked stooges, clapping without reason.
Santorum has a number of disturbing votes on behalf of unions, one that would have forced Fed Ex to unionize and then many others supporting minimum wage increases.
In his 2006 campaign, he used his support for increased minimum wage as a positive point. He also backed legislation that would force companies to continue to pay for benefits for laid off workers.
As Republicans go, he’s very pro union. Very moderate outside of the social issues in a lot of ways in fact.
he apparently thinks that felons should be able to vote. I personally find that a bit disturbing and unconservative. We don’t need child molesters and drug dealers holding sway over our legislative bodies.
It is the same with Newt Gingrich also.

Santorum voted against, Right to Work.
Santorum voted for benefits to the Union.
Someone had a nice long list of Santorum’s anti-conservative legislation on FR, but I can not remember who produced it for us.

This might come as a shock to you but felons can already vote in all 50 states.
In some they must have served their time, including paroles but not all. In two states, incarcerated felons are allowed to vote.
The Democrats that crossed over in Michigan weren’t Reagan Democrats they were hardcore left wingers led by people like Joe DiSano (Democrat strategist) and Tony Trupiano (”progressive” talk radio host).
BTW, Santorum voted against FedEx who was under pressure to unionize.
Along the way to the final bill, Santorum voted with Ted Kennedy and Arlen Specter against FedEx, which advantaged the union position.
However, when the bill was finished he finally voted for the bill.
But can you imagine? All this friendly footsie with the union, an operation that forever was at least half communist and now half Marxists.
Rick is a player for Rick, and though the union does not support him, it sure isn’t because he didn’t try to pander to them.

I remember when Santorum was using that as a positive point against Romney in one of the debates. I’m surprised he still surged after that.
Sorry, what do you mean? These guys crossed over to do what? To vote against FedEX along with Santorum? Is that what you are saying? I am very fuzzy why Santorum did that or what excuses he will now offer for doing it.
I did know this would come up if Santorum ever became much of a factor. It is time. His habit is always to blame someone else.

Sorry I wasn`t being clear. Democrat strategists and other assorted left wingers were encouraging hardline unionists to cross over to vote for Rick because they think that Obama can beat him more easily in the fall.
