Breaking: Afghan National Website Confirms That NATO Agreed to Hold Trial For Those Accused of Koran Burning

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan website posted this report on the agreement with NATO forces on the koran burning at Bagram Air Force Base. NATO has agreed to bring to trial those accused of the crime as soon as possible.
Following the insulting and shameful act of burning Quran in Bagram airbase that injured the religious sentiments of the Islamic world and particularly of the Afghan Muslim nation, two delegations comprising of representatives from government, the National Council of Ulemma and the National Assembly were assigned and dispatched to investigate the circumstances and causes that have led to the inhumane incident.
The delegations, while deeply touched by the religious sentiments shown by the Afghan Muslim and Mujahid nation, inform our citizens of the following:
1. In view of the particular security situation in the country, we call on all our Muslim citizens of Afghanistan to exercise self-restraint and extra vigilance in dealing with the issue and avoid resorting to protests and demonstrations that may provide ground for the enemy to take advantage of the situation.
2. After the shameful incident by the US soldiers stationed in Bagram, senior NATO and American officials expressed their deep apologies to the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and assured that such incidents will not happen again.
3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nations demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible.
4. The assigned delegations demand from the government of Afghanistan to take over from the Americans the authority of the Bagram prison so no such incidents can recur and calls on the US government to fully and comprehensively cooperate to this end.

When are our leaders going to wake up? Islam is incompatible with Western concepts of human rights. The very name, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, should be objectionable to any freedom loving person.

... inhumane incident ... This should tell us all we need to know:
- A religion that worships the paper its religion is written on at least as much as itsdeity, but punishes those who would tell them about the Maker of the wood that is used to create that paper.
- A religion that considers the burning of paper inhumane, but rewards the killing of innocent civilians, represses its women, and considers lying (to infidels) acceptable.

US officials plan on letting this farce go that far?

They are not going to deport these soldiers to Kabul. Where are they planning to hold this mockery of a trial?

jda, you’re right. The very fact that these people believe a book of paper is holy and people who mishandle it deserve punishment, perhaps even death, tells us all we need to know. You’d think even the left would be up in arms over the way our government coddles Muslims. Feminism and homosexual rights wouldn’t last long in an Islamic republic. Muslims are our ideological enemies. The theocrats the left (and libertarians) fear so much aren’t Christians, they’re Muslims.

NATO can’t guarantee anything. The decision whether or not to prosecute any soldier is one that can only be made up his or her U.S. chain of command. There is no such thing as a “NATO” court-martial.

Why are U.S. troops still in Afghanistan? The US no longer has any intention to win this conflict or to do anything else positive for the Afghan people. Obama has already announced a scheduled pull out from Afganistan, so all the Taliban has to do is wait it out then take over. This all seems agreeable, so Lets went, Ceesco, keep your hands in your pockets and your fly zipped up all the way to the airport before they can think of something else they don’t like about us.

Like Mark Levin says: “We don’t want to get them really really really mad at us because they are already really really really mad at us so we better apologize” LOL. Freakin’ Barack Insane Obama. You gotta figure - This is how this putz acts during an election year. Can you imagine how he will act if re-elected?

Breaking: Afghan National Website Confirms That NATO Agreed to Hold Trial For Those Accused of Koran Burning
Anyone know if there is a proper way to destroy the Koran, or is the idea to keep all copies ever printed?
That said, the response to this event shows the never forget, and, the you done me wrong, mindset of “the people” and their “religion”.
I believe the response just the opposite of “turn the other cheek”, give him your cloak” and “seventy times seven”. One would have to say if one human life is insufficient payment for an innocent act of Koran burning, where does it all end”?
My answer would have to be, B A D L Y if one was to follow their lead. That said, following their lead is the road to nowhere, with unknown consequences. Attempting to appease by the use of a show trial isn’t going to appease anyone.
Dead mutilated bodies hanging from the nearest bridge, or decapitation on national TV could be a start, but then who in their right mind is headed down that road?

Hopefully we get all our troops out of there. If they want to have a trial, I suggest we send them the blankets they used to keep warm, after a quick trip to the CDC or Fort Detrick for adding some biologicals.

Time to rollup and roll out! Let them sort it out.
If they dare put U.S. soldiers on trial and we go along with it, can the International Criminal COurt be far behind. Bush fought vehemntly against any such notion, not the current poser-in-chief. Dear God, I have had it with these people.

A trial would make Obama look even more craven and dumb than he does now. So don’t expect one.
