Santorum Won More Michigan Delegates
The Moderate Voice ^ | February 29th, 2012 | Tony Campbell

According to the MSM, and most people who blindly follow their reports, Mitt Romney won the Michigan primary last night by about 3 points, 41 to 38. However, like the Electoral College, the point of the contest is not to win the popular vote (Gore – 2000) but to win more delegates per state based on the apportionment of those delegates.

Michigan’s primary delegate system allows for a set number of delegates to be won by state wide popular vote and the rest to be evenly distributed by Congressional districts. When you consider the facts of the contest, and the outcome of the voting pattern of the Congressional districts, Rick Santorum won more delegates by a count of 17 to 13 for Romney.

No spin; just the facts. The MSM will not report it that way so someone has to.

What is concerning is that perception is everything. Rick’s numbers are down on Ras and Gallup and most drones don’t pay attention to minor follow up reports like the fact that Santorum actually won more delegates.

The MSM, especially Faux, is going to continue to shill for Mittens any way possible..thus there will be little mention of this “insignificant” news about Rick Santorum’s victory in Michigan.

At the very least, it will give Rick an opening line for his next dozen speeches and couple dozen media interviews

It’s Thursday already and I’ve not heard Rick say anything about this. Has anyone else? Is he jumping on this thing? He needs to.

I see where you are coming from, but I am not as concerned yet. The MSM did everything they could to paint Rick as some sort of religious zealot and Milt outspent Rick 2 to 1 in MI with all negative ads. For their trouble, Mitt got the same amount of delegates as Rick and if you look at the state map, Rick won almost all of the state except Detroit. Let’s be honest here, this is a race for delegates, not wining states. There are just a bunch of states coming up where Milt has no chance to get any.

We will see soon enough if Rick can perform some more magic on Tuesday. There are quite a few states that have him up by a good margin. I think there will be more surprises that no one sees coming to give us some renewed spirit.

We wuz ROBBED—twice now!

We’ll never read this in the MSM or GOP-E.

The day after the Hawkeye-cauci I finally understood how the Gorebots were feeling in December of 2000.

MI-10 did not end up being all that close. The CD that right now is listed as having been won by Romney but might flip to Santorum is MI-05, in which Romney clings to a 488-vote lead with some votes apparently still to be tabulated.

If Santorum ends up winning MI-05, only then will he have a 17-13 delegate advantage in MI over Romney.

Rush Limbaugh mentions the 2012 Romney robocall of Santorum’s 2008 endosement (still trying to find audio of the actual call - I heard it somewhere):

Whoa....the 2 statewide were supposed to be awarded proportionally.

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/MI-R#0228

2 National Convention Delegates are to be proportionally bound to presidential contenders based on the statewide vote. A candidate must receive 15% of the statewide vote to be eligible to receive National Convention delegates. From those candidates meeting this threshold, proportionally bind the national convention delegates according to the statewide vote. Round factions to the nearest whole number (below 0.5 are rounded down, 0.5 and above are rounded up). If the end result is less than 2 delegates, allocate 1 additional delegate to the candidate receiving the most votes statewide. If the end result is more than 2 delegates, subtract 1 delegate from the candidate receiving the fewest votes statewide.

41-38 still rounds to 1-1.

Thanks for the ping. So... is it true, or not?

From what I have recently been told, the Santorum campaign has requested this link not be circulated as it is FALSE.

Sorry...

It is not true. Actually the toads that run the GOP decided today that Rick and Mittens being even wasn’t good for him so they moved the goalposts.

How many times are these a-holes going to shaft Santorum after the race?
