(CBS News) KABUL - Two U.S. troops have (sic) were shot dead by three Afghan gunmen Thursday at their base in the southern Kandahar province, and two of the three shooters were Afghan National Army soldiers - another blow to a U.S. strategy pinned on direct partnership with Afghan forces.
The two Afghan troops who opened fire were killed by U.S. troops, and a third shooter, a teacher at the joint U.S.-Afghan base, was wounded.

Two more lives lost. This is ridiculous. It’s one thing to feel that the Quran was disrespected and objbect. Lord knows Obama would see to it that it didn’t happen again. It’s another to take human lives over it. How many people are dead in addition to the six Americans? Thirty plus, right? A loving God, even if the Bible was purposely disrespected, would not want people to be killed over it. He would judge the people accordingly himself. The god these fanatics believe in is not loving.

So I see two things from this:
- It’s OK for Muslims to kill Americans, but not OK for Americans to burn the Quran.
- Our pretender-in-chief apologizes for our troops accidentally burning some Muslim paper, but doesn’t condemn their killing of our troops.
Kind of puts it all in perspective, doesn’t it???
I support Rick Santorum, but yes, when the man is right, he is right: Speaker Gingrich was indeed correct in stating those things about Afghanistan and the liberatees turning on the liberators now, all over this Korean Burning Crap, and the two of them ought to beat that drum till the cows come home, or at least until Super Tuesday and in every TV interview and every radio appearance and demand VOA air it in Pashtoon headed for Afghanistan, and also use it in speeches. I have to ask, Are our troops walking around that crap hole unarmed?? I know it is hard to defend yourself from a worm that waits until you turn around then shoots you in the back but every single one of out troops should be carrying either a locked and loaded service rifle or an M9 pistol at all times even in the areas that we think are secure. Hell they should be carrying a loaded pistol to the shower with them. These animals are not to be trusted under any conditions.

The US and all NATO need to leave now. On the way out they should destroy ALL the infrastructure that permits Afghan to leave the country. Destroy airports, train facilities, communications, and power facilities. Clinton went a long way to doing this to the Serbs.
It was a matter of time. I never felt safe behind the wire with hadjis walking around AK47 supposedly as escort for local workers in our giving jobs to villagers to win hearts and minds.

Countless equipment and troop belongings are being stolen on US base by local workers and the brass hushes it all the time and tell the troops to shut up, they have their relations.
So, here goes, hadji sells diamond cheap to Mayor Cell commander but then goes steal US troops, and if complaints go to Commander, troops told to shut up. THis is Obama policy.

Every Afghan can figure that out.
So, two results:
If the Taliban are to use their assets (the people they have infiltrated into Afghan army units) they have to use them now; and
Every Afghan has to think about changing sides and joining the winner (the Taliban) and get ready for their rule. That’s how the tribes survive.
I’m very concerned that entire tribes will openly turn against us as soon as we have withdrawn enough not to be able to retaliate or defend against them.
An evacuation like Saigon was chaos; but at least there were still Vietnamese army troops holding off the enemy till we got away.
Are there going to be any Afghan army troops holding off the Taliban while the last US planes lifts off from the airport?
When we get out of Afghanistan, the women there will suffer immeasurably.

I’m old enough to remember Vietnam vividly. This Afg. mess reminds me of Vietnam. Without going into the details, the South Vietnamese government was as corrupt as the N. When we finally left, I remember the pictures of Highway 1, the North-South (Vietnam warrior, please correct me if I’m wrong) main road was covered with rifles, ammo etc thrown away as the South ran away. Arms paid for by the American people.
Here’s a BIG SHOUT-OUT to all the Viet Nam Vets. I remember your heroism, the awful treatment you received when you returned, and vowed that I’d never stand by and let our fighting forces be treated so badly again.

They have to use them now to force our retreat; otherwise they’ll need them for the consolidation of power (as Chiang Kai-Shek did, saving his best troops & equipment for the civil war AFTER the Japanese were defeated).

In Saigon the ARVN started firing on the planes/helicopters leaving. Maybe the midnight retreat a la Iraq is better.

They are Muslim; this happens all over the Muslim world. These same women breed suicide bombers and such; they are part of the problem.
In extreme Islam, women are slaves and no more 'part of the problem' than the children are who have bombs strapped to them by the men.
There are many countries where Muslim women can at least be educated, and don't need to wear burkas and stay at home.
