In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Breitbart had some very powerful enemies.

Glenn Beck just opened his radio show saying not to jump to any conclusions, but leave no stone unturned to be sure this was not foul play.

RIP Andrew Breitbart, you were one of the (very) good guys.

One of the best. We lost a great one today.

Like you, I would never go there for much of anything. It just happened that I was looking for confirmation, when the main MSM was saying nothing about it yet. They were also the first to report it as was FR.

I did not stay long, it was a celebration from them, to put it mildly.

Just said on FNC that he collapsed while out walking. They tried to revive him at the scene and couldn’t. He was taken to the hospital before being pronounced dead. Hannity said he had some heart problems last year.

Sorry cuban leaf. I am just very sad over this. Trust me, nothing would have made me happier than this being a hoax.

I wonder if he had heart problems or some other undiagnosed illness/disease.

It’s scary to think that something’s wrong with your body and you might not even know it.

I’m in complete shock. Just can’t believe this. What a terrible loss.

I hope and pray he knew the Lord Jesus Christ and that he’s with Him right now. May He give His divine comfort, strength, and peace to Breitbart’s family and friends.

Stunning and devastating news.....like losing a family member. You fought the good fight, Mr. Breitbart. We will try to pick up the flag and carry it forward. RIP.

I must go get ready for work now. I MUST go to work today. I must deny this until I get home.

I don't think men are prone to heart attacks at that age.

Yes, they can be. My late husband had his first heart attack at 39. No warning.

To quote you who have said it so well!

"Breitbart tread where few had the courage to go!"

How terrible for his young children and his wife ... Prayers for all!

Guilty here. But Breitbart never murdered any young women.

And millions of babies through his support of “kill baby” abortion. That is true.

Probably the widowmaker, LAD, Left Anterior Descending artery.

Killed Tim Russert.

Killed my dad at 50 years old, when they found him he was slumped over the table with a cup of coffee there and a cigarette still held in his fingers that had burned down.

Very sudden.
Very, very fatal.

Folks, I hate to sound like a nutbar again, but GIT YUR FISH OIL!!!

Fox News had the initial report as a sidebar, now have made it the lead article. Editor figured, “Oh he’s one of us, or were supposed to be one of him, er, well bump him up.”

Unbelievable! He was such a champion of truth and so needed in this world. What a great loss, most especially to his family.

Somebody HAS to have it.

Dana Loesch will carry the torch for Breitbart. She is an editor over at Breitbart and an up and coming young conservative star. I feel a terrible sense of loss. Can't explain it.

Are there ways to induce a massive heart attack on someone so that it does not show up in an autopsy?

Spike of the Australian stonefish.

I don’t think men are prone to heart attacks at that age.

It happens more often than people think. I had a brother in law die last year at 42, he was thin and very active.

But, saying that, this was Breitbart and he was a target of the left. Makes me wonder....

Hmmm, I wonder where that list of Clintonites who passed away has gone. The list was stunning for its length and content.

Sad. We’ve lost some conservative heroes in the last few years...Tony Snow, Bob Novak, Tony Blakely and now Breitbart. RIP righteous warrior.
