Modesto police are investigating if there's a criminal case against a former high school teacher who resigned his job to move into an apartment with an 18-year old girl he met while teaching.
James Hooker, 41, was placed on administrative leave Feb. 3 by Modesto City Schools and resigned less than three weeks later, according to a report at the Modesto Bee.

If the student was male, the left-wingers would be calling him a “hero” and he’d probably get a promotion in his school.
I remember when we used to look up to teachers.
James “Hooker”
Sometimes real life trumps fiction, LOL.
I’m terrible with faces but ... anyone else think they kinda look alike? Like I said I could be way off.
Emotionally, they are equals.
You have got to be kidding.
He left his kids. Are you happy for them too?
Of course the guy dumped his wife and kids.
No problem, right?
I mean it's California after all.
So if she marries him, she becomes a Hooker.
I’m happily married to a wonderful woman 21 years younger than me. I don’t remember ever having to get the opinion - let alone the permission of anybody except her. I know for a fact that some of her relatives didn’t approve... So I don’t interact with them much. Fortunately, her mother and I are pretty good friends... and about the same age.
I 100% don't agree with them. But "freedom" does not always guarantee you will agree with what people do with that freedom.
In other words, it's none of my business.
We had a case like this here in Pennsylvania years ago. A teacher divorced his wife and took his 13 year old student as his common law wife.
Some pinhead judge in Erie County ruled it was a valid common law marriage and ordered the girl’s family to turn her over to him!
I don’t approve of it anymore than anyone else, but if the girl is 18 and of legal age, and the guy is 41, it is questionable if any crime has been committed.
If the 41 year old were female and the 18 year old were male, this thread would already been inundated with “lucky dude!” and “where were these teachers when I was in school”, etc.
