Romney campaign turns to shallow pockets(Mittens asking for $3 bucks)

...Washington—

After locking up much of the Republican establishment's heavyweight fundraisers, Mitt Romney is going after the little guy.

"Donate $3 today to be automatically entered to be Mitt's special guest for Election Night on Super Tuesday," reads an email appeal from the Romney campaign to supporters. A dramatic new Web video asks for $20 contributions to fight the "Obama Attack Machine."

The GOP presidential candidate made a similar solicitation after clinching the Michigan primary Tuesday, with a rare personal plea for people to visit his website and "pledge your support — in every way possible."

The pitch reflects a challenge for Romney, one of the wealthiest candidates ever to run for president: He so far has been unable to build a broad base of small donors who can inject fresh cash into his campaign. The need to do so has grown more acute as he heads into next week's Super Tuesday, with contests in 10 states, and subsequent battles in the fight for the GOP nomination.

Though he has outstripped his Republican rivals in fundraising, he also is burning through cash. Romney spent money nearly three times faster than he raised it in January, leaving him with $7.7 million. Since then, his campaign has shelled out at least $2.7 million for television advertising alone, according to sources familiar with the ad buys.

Romney, who put more than $40 million of his own money into his 2008 White House bid, has not yet pulled out his checkbook this year. Campaign officials declined to say whether he was considering doing so.

So far, the former Massachusetts governor has relied on a network of wealthy contributors to finance his run. Just 9% of the nearly $63 million Romney raised through the end of January came from supporters who gave $200 or less,

Sweet. About time again to dip into the sons’ Trust Funds.

When you spend a million dollars for every two delegates garnered in your own home state that your dad governed, IT’S TIME TO SELF FINANCE.

Santorum said tonight something like 80% of his $9M came from small donors, vs. something less than 20% of Romneys.

This makes one wonder if Romney’s big money donors have started to shut off the faucet. Well, he can spend his own money (again).

Once I had a campaign...made it run
Had some big teevee time
If I keep on spending...I’ll be done.
Brother, can you spare a dime (or $25 or $50, please!)?

“Myth’s big money bag is on empty.”

IIRC, the empty suit President appealed for $3 per person or whatever you can afford less than one month ago. HIS campaign bank account must be as empty as his ethics account.

And he wants to control the national budget??? Feh. Maybe if he didn’t spend so much in negative ads and robocalls (does anyone listen to any of these?) he’d have had enough to last hm through the rest of a campaign.

Not one thin dime.

So, one day I was just walking down the street, and this phony Republican came out of an alley and said to me, “- - - Donate $3 today-— . “

Well, he was a shifty-eyed, city-slicker so I handed him a 3 dollar bill, and he left happy.

I thought it a fair deal, you know, what can be more phony than a three dollar bill?

Right, a phony Republican that takes a three dollar bill !!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps Mitt should disclose how every $3 donation he’s seeking will be allocated by his campaign. I’m guessing something like $2.97 to power his ads sliming conservatives and $.03 for paying off that bet he made with Governor Perry.

Forgive me but please... No obomba opponent will be able to compete with the hundreds of billions of dollars obomba has managed to pilfer from the American taxpayers to fund his re-election campaign. Not even the mighty mormon church has enough money to defeat obomba at the poles (Hell... Not even the American taxpayers have enough money to defeat obomba. He's stolen it all.). The only way... in my opinion, for America to be rid of obomba is for Congress to man up and keep their oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic; enemies like barack hussein obomba. Sheriff Joe Arpiao has proven that obomba's released birth certificates are forgeries, are the claims obomba's not even a citizen valid? Congress needs to find out.

JMHO

That is what I was thinking - a $3.00 bill. Would The disgrutled voters of America be better than the disgrutled states of America?
