I’ve heard it used, but didn’t know what it meant:

Definition of MOOK

slang
: a foolish, insignificant, or contemptible person
Origin of MOOK

perhaps alteration of moke
First Known Use: 1930

I was familiar with “moke,” a street-wise youth. “Mook” seems to indicate “no kind of wise” and no longer a “youth” by any reasonable standard.
